Pisgah@Forestview

Forestview is very quick and well coached. Pisgah will struggle
in this one. I think Crest will have a game next Friday.

Patsy agree on something! Pisgah will not be able to handle FV speed.

And yes Crest will have a game next week, that is a given. Crest will not only match speed but exploit FV weakness up front. Crest will dominate FV.

BAMA, don't worry about us(Pisgah). Y'all need to worry about your 24 kids in your program and the start of basketball season.

The spread has Pisgah as a 22 point dog. I would take Pisgah and the points. Forestview will not beat Pisgah by 22. The Bears have a good defense.

Good luck Bears, win this one and I will go to The Ranch to see you play next week.

I just hope our 24 kids that play football doesn't translate to 8 kids playing basketball. I think Cherokee had more players than we had this year. That is amazing considering we had 60 - 70 back in the day.

How many does Pisgah have mid 50's?

You handle speed by keeping the ball away from their offense.Long drives eat up the clock,no turnovers or penalties. After the long drives we must put points on the board. If we hold them to 20 or less we win if not it will be a long drive home.

Pisgah will need to be very good on defense, and Forestview will need to play very bad on offense (turnovers and penalties) in order for FV to stay under 20 points. And the Pisgah offense will need to control the clock in order to keep the FV offense under 20. All of things will have to happen for Pisgah to keep the points low.

Tall order all around since no one has kept them under 20 yet.

Beautiful day for football, thank the good Lord. See y'all at the game! GO BEARS!!

Bama...if we win we will have all the support we need without you .. Please don't waste your gas to come watch... On second thought you come on and me and papabear2 can tell you some Johnny jokes..

It really does not matter what we as fans think. It is the players and coaches who will determine the game. I want to see a good game and it be injury free.

Don't let all the people who have no dog in the fight get to you. We expect a fight and one great football game. Safe travels down here.

Bama, Just curious, what year did THS have 60-70 varsity players. Looking back at the team pictures from eleven conference titles THS has won dating back to the mid 70s, I can't count more than 38 on any team. Please enlighten us to the year of the 70 player team.

J2'sFriend,

I certainly agree with you. In all my years I cannot ever remember a Pisgah or Tuscola team ever fielding that many players. There are certain people that just feel the need to post and make assumptions about things they have no real clue about!

Forestview 20 - Pisgah 10 - 3rd qtr

If you want to follow on Twitter, Phil Gardner (gazettephil) is covering the game. He is real good.

Bears have played their tails off tonight. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Final 37-13 Forestview.... PHS just ran out of gas I guess. Good effort, good season.

WOW, that's a good football team. That game was everything I expected and more. Anybody at that game definitely got their money worth. You guys have nothing to be ashamed of at all. Hope all you guys have safe travels

One player that really stood out on Pisgah was that #25 on both sides of the ball. That kid was disruptive all game long. I remember saying "Somebody needs to be keeping an eye on that kid."

That quarterback of theirs was very athletic.

I notice things got chippy toward the end of the game however.

The defense of Forestview, IMO, is overlooked. They had two key red-zone stops that forced Pisgah to have to kick field-goals instead of scoring touchdowns. The Jaguars defense also forced three turnovers.

I agree about the FV defense...they are underrated. CREST and Forestview....should be a good game.

Forestview was all i expected plus some, i hate things got a bit chippy at the end, good kids just let the emotions get the best of them at the end of a hard fought game. Good luck to Forestview next week and the rest of the way. Bears hold your heads high it was easy to see you guys left everything you had out there. You all made me eat crow from the buzzer of the North Buncombe game in week 1 till now, and im glad this group served it to me. I've not been so proud of a group in a long time. Thank you all for your efforts. Young team only started 2 seniors last night on the O side and i think 3 on D. Work hard this off season and there will be a lot to look forward to next year on the river. I think crest will have a good test. Neal is the real deal and he has some help lots of athletes met some really nice people. I wish it didnt have to end but only 1 team can win it all and the bears made them work for it. i dont want to single any one person out but Trevor Johnson, you played like a man possessed last night and all year, ill miss watching him next year. Seniors thank you and underclassman you guys have a chance to make some noise next year work hard. Again nothing but respect for Forestview, good luck next week, it will have to be near perfect but you have a chance at the upset. Go Bears!

Proud of the Bears, coaches had a good year .Good luck to the seniors 19-7 over two years.Looking forward to next year. Those juniors and sophomores will really benefit from all the playing time this year. You should all be proud of the way you turned this season around.Great improvement since the start of season.

Bearalum04, couldn't agree more. The Bears played very well up until the last few minutes of the game. Lost our composure a little bit, let FV score a couple of cheapies in the end. All in all very exciting game to watch. Looking forward to next year. Good luck to the rest of the mtn teams that are still in the hunt.

Really good game last time. I was really disappointed with some of the bear fans last night. When #25 took the cheap shot out of frustration some of the fans were cheering him on. These young men need to be taught to keep their composure. It was a dumb move to hit #21 in the back! He needed to be delt with over that. Hopefully the coach addressed it when he went over to speak with him. Don't get me wrong. I am not bashing #25. He plays harder then just about anybody that I have seen on the high school level. He plays with a lot of heart and passion. In the heat of the moment things happen.
On the other hand, for the fans who cheered him on. There are no excuses for your actions. The young man that he hit has a very bright future. He is a D1 prospect who will very likely do great things in college. One injury could end it all. And some of you fans cheered when #21 took a potential career ending shot to the back. That is disgusting to me. Having said that, I must say that the idiots who cheered were a small crowd. The majority of the black bear fans are good fans. Thiers always bad apples in the bunch!

I also heard that and felt a bit ashamed, it was a small crowd and nothing you can do about it, I hate it for 21 and was glad to see he appeared to be ok. I feel safe that it was addressed and i left the coaches out earlier they done a great job with this years team and would love for my kid to play for the current staff. Great job by the coaches this year. Again i feel like it was just heat of the moment not a dirty player by any means

O.K. pretty sure the shot everyone is mentioning was taken against the FV QB, Crawford, #8. Right after that, Neal and Crawford were both subbed for and after that a backup fullback went all Earl Campbell for the final score.

As for Neal #21, he was drug down by the shirt 5 yards deep in the endzone after scoring the TD that put the game away by #12. The tackle was legal but had the effect of a horsecollar by the way he brought him down. I don't think the tackle was dirty, but it was very late and deep in the endzone when it occurred.

If you saw something different, let me know, as I don't recall a shot in the back against Neal, but do remember the one at the end against Crawford.

The angle i had looking at it was pretty poor could have possibly have been the QB i thought it was Neal either way the small group cheering was an embarrassment i'm glad nobody was hurt. The kids left everything out there and i don't think anything was meant to be dirty just disappointing in the small part of the fan base that showed no class

#25 has had the occasional problem over the last couple of seasons. I doubt it is addressed much. They like them amped up over there.

I think its awesome how grown men come on here and name out or single out a kid, dont mention names or numbers individually its a high school kid. Be grown and stop singling out that is as bad as the people in the crowd cheering about the hit

I honestly don't know why you guys even bring this .None of you even know if just maybe something happen to him before that and the ref never saw. This young man is one of the reason we were even playing last night,he gives you 100% on both offense and defense. No I was not cheering him on .Very few were. The ones that were are the same ones that get on to the coaches and kids when the screw up. Which I don't agree with either.I also know that several of you gave up on the Bears after one game.Just pointing out that we all screw up every once and a while.

I will say this! For a team that had to travel 2.5 hours to get to the game, the Pisgah faithful traveled really well. It wasn't overflowing like a South Point crowd would be, but I don't think I saw an empty seat on the visitors' side. Of the few Pisgah fans that I actually met and interacted, they were classy and represented the Bear Faithful really well.

dont mention names or numbers individually its a high school kid.

Wouldn't it be best to not mention names or numbers at all? No matter what?

If any of you guys get the urge to come down to Crest this coming Friday night let it be known. Would love the support. We had a blast in the pressbox with your radio crew, all a class act.
