This is off topic from football, however I find this truly disappointing to another fall sport. The state championships for volleyball this year will be held at Fayetteville State due to a scheduling conflict with N.C. State. I realize most of you could probably care less, but I believe this is very disheartening to those athletes that will qualify for the finals. I’m not degrading the facilities of FSU, but how disappointing for those that thought they would be playing in a larger venue and add in its not centrally located what so ever...

Interesting because most on here would rather play the state football championships in a smaller more intimate setting(Stadium)

Reynolds, in its new format, will seat 5500.

Capel seats 4000.

I am going to assume that the reason State won’t host it this year is due to homecoming that weekend.

It’s a great intimate arena with a lot of history... but from the looks of Capel Arena from the pictures I’ve seen, it isn’t too shabby.

This shows the issues the NCHSAA deals with on state title venues. Has happened for football at each of the Big Four schools. The title games

I expect they looked to UNC but would have ran into the same issues possibly there.

With UNC having a turf field and is more centrally located, the NCHSAA should really rethink of having the championships there again.
