Surely Clinton wouldn't hire someone that has played musical chairs his whole life.

I've always said that. Especially over guys that have busted their rear for years to get jobs and just can't say the right thing in an interview.
Northwood picks Dalton Brown to fill head football coach role
Brown is an alum of Northwood and previously coached at Leesville Road.

We'll he's moving onto his 3rd job in 3 seasons since coming back to NC. I think he had 2 or 3 more gigs before coming to NC and is just now in his 30s I think.
I think there are a lot of schools that will hire anybody with head coaching experience. It doesn't matter what their record was as a head coach, they just have to have been a head coach.
Some assistant coaches wait and only apply for head jobs at good programs. They often find it difficult to land these jobs without head coach experience. These are the also the guys that often get passed over for outside coaches with head coaching experience when the head coach they work for leaves.
Other coaches take the route of applying for every job that comes open no matter how bad the job is. When they eventually land one, it opens the door for them to continuously move around to other bad jobs that gladly hire them. And if they ever have 1 good season at the bad program, it just might open the door for them to land a decent job.
I don't know which one is the right path to take for coaches, but I do know that quite often the principals making the decisions know very little about what it takes to select the right coach.
Some coaches also know how to say all the right things in an interview or sell snake oil really well.
Still no update on Suitcase Mitch? He still is listed as the Northwood Coach on all his social medias and is doing speaking engagements listed as Northwood still.
Sounds like people are starting to catch on to what he does. Haven't heard officially, but you have to wonder if he is who South Brunswick's board rejected. There are some coaches who can do what he does (Joe Glass comes to mind as one - his track record speaks for itself as a top HC in NC), but unless you are a proven program-turner-arounder - I feel like most admins and boards don't want to hire someone who is wishy-washy and always searching for the next big thing.
Usually takes alot for a board to reject someone. He did say he had something down east, so that checks out potentially.

So much for the notion to go further east. That's further east but not by much. Based off resigning at Northwood and then having what 2 months between this announcement, I'd say something else fell through. Maybe I'm wrong.
