Sorry about that Otis, that was the score that was posted on MAXPREPS and High School OT at halftime. I should have known better than to trust MAXPRREPS. Good talking to you after the game and hope to see ya in the future PS if you might come to the Havelock/ Northeastern game, I have a Havelock hat for you. LOL
No way!!!! Otis better not wear a Havelock hat,LOL!!! So glad our teams get to play. Regardless of the outcome this is the kind of early season big games our coach has been trying to schedule. This will be one of the biggest games ever here in EC aside from the WRH game in 17.
Yes our kicking game is getting better by the week. Every time I think I've seen it all the kid steps up and does even better. Every ko but one was a touchback last night. All the punts were bombs and not one was a shank. He has missed only one pat this yr and that one was blocked. You just don't see this kind of kicking at the 2a level. I know that we haven't anyway. This kid's kicking even has our fans cheering him on and hollering for him when he comes back to the sidelines. Never witnessed that kind of excitement over a kicker.
This Reidsville team maybe better than the last 3 year teams that made it to the state. Its still really early though and we have East Surry next week.
My Northeastern friends here are being a bit modest. NE may have there best team ever. The reason is they are so balanced in every aspect of the game. They have the unique situation in that they do not have a true strength. They do everything well. This is a nightmare for teams to gameplan for because it's the same problem when you try to find a weakness for this team. It's a long season and things can change but if you want to play Northeastern you better have the team to make it to the chip in my opinion.
Bud seems to always be right but I wouldn't bet it all on us making it back to Raleigh but if we did,and Reidsville is better than last yr. Well then I'd say we take another L to the rams. One thing I will say on our behalf is that our coaching is leaps and bounds better. I will go as far to say that Coach Moore is leading for coach of the yr. As someone that attends every game I have seen major improvements. He has had to really step his coaching game up in a couple of games this season where we were trailing. It's not just that, his clock management with timeouts etc has been damn near spot on. I hope we are fortunate to make it back to represent the east but I'm not sold on it just yet. In two weeks Havelock comes to town, if he can manage to lead us to a win over them then I will be all in for NE. In the meantime I know that teams like Kinston, Clinton,and WRH are all lying in wait ready to pounce. 2020 will be special here in Elizabeth City, that I do know, but until then I'm going to be nervous every time we suit up
Giving me way too much credit there. If I was always right. I'd have a Ferrari a 4 story mansion, a offshore sport fishing boat, waterfront land on the Chowan (Colerain side) far as the eye can see. Lol
