North Lincoln vs Maiden

Figured I’d drop this thread on to see if anybody has any kinda input. Any newspaper game pickers will go with Maiden and bout everyone and every poster will go with Maiden. For 3 quarters I was in shock and felt wow I was so wrong bout the EL NL game but then reality musta sit in on the North players- “oh man, we’re beating East, this is too good to be true, something just don’t feel right” then let em come back.

They may come out fired up with a different outlook on Maiden. Just because West lost but hung with Maiden a while doesn’t mean North will just let down and play sorry like they did against West on the defensive side. This team is very capable and is/was capable of taking 2nd in this conf with the weapons they have. Need I mention the AC game, a team that’s in route to being undefeated and has their hardest conf opponents already underneath them. 4 pts away in that one people 4 POINTS!!. AC was prob playing their worst game of the season that night, I don’t know.

I say Maiden by 2 scores but STILL could go either way. North just has to play defense and not get complacent when having a lead. Maiden has or seems to have less defense than East so there is hope. Seems to have happened every game (letdown)except with 2 of their opposing teams that are less talented than East Burke and Bunker Hill. This year is possibly the worst EB team in 43 year history.....and somehow some way they beat West Lincoln in what is prob their 1 win of season, they might beat BH. I don’t see them even beating Draughn.

Thanks for chiming in Beamayster. Yes they are used to losing unfortunately. Could finish out strong, possible but won’t put my eggs in the basket on that deal. A lot of us fans have the ‘next year next year’ mentality when the team ain’t doing good. But with North there is no telling. Once this QB leaves they may lose that spark, those transfers may jump on the East Lincoln bandwagon or Lincolnton, it’s just hard telling. JV team is not half bad this year so that’s a hopeful help for North.

Seems you guys over at Cedar Rock will see a South Caldwell team rise again. They’re building back up and getting rhythm so that might make for some non conf good gate sales in the future.

It’s crazy to say that this is prob the best North Lincoln offense they’ve had in years and possibly the best period. But let’s compare- Cribb 17’ to 07’ Kenny Raymer. Raymer was a bowling ball RB that found seams and holes quick and got extra yards after a grab/hit. Wasn’t a track star speedster RB but had just enough speed to give defenses fits. Cribb sorta reminds me of him but he don’t have the flash that Raymer had. QB is not Trent Hopkins 06’ but he gets the ball to the weapons if given time but lacks the rushing talent Hopkins had. Wideouts- by far the best they’ve ever had, no question. 07’ 08’ Knights didn’t have em. Overall, the best in skill position by an inch or 2 compared to 07’ I’ve seen bigger linemen than this years and it def shows on defense.

So why in the world do I say all that, even with only 2 wins so far this team has hope. Prob the best 2 win team around if you think about it. Just can’t seal the deal in 4th quarters

If North can manage to win two or three of these last four games, they can make the playoffs as a 14,15 or 16th seed.

Yeah according to the mock playoff lineup that someone had posted. So I’ll line up outcome of rest of games:

Bandys- compared to the tradition and what I’ve seen so many times in the past this team is terrible. NL wins by 2 scores with Bandys having their best stats in this game cause their going up against a crappy defense.

Lincolnton- a toss up. They’ve beaten Lincolnton twice in the series and this year is their best chance. No way it’s happeing after this year on unless coach Pack can get it rolling.

Maiden- said too much bout this already. A toss up. If NL can score on every drive and mistake free ball they got it. Other wise it’s a wrap.

Newton- let’s be real, only parents and girlfriends are showing up to this game for North lol.

You may be very right but the way the defense is they could lose out all the way. 2 wins against Highland Tech level teams...however close losses to pretty good teams and that loss to WL was pathetic and a major defensive letdown. North is just a mystery to me ha ha.

Every game from here on out unless they were playing EB, B Hill, or McDowell or something is gonna be a who wants it more / least amt of mistakes kinda games. I’d like to say next year as long as they have a decent qb that they will be solid and surprise a lot of people according to what they got coming back, but what’s crazy is rest of conf teams have a lot coming back too. We’ll see
