Both teams are senior heavy, strong and well coached. Games like this come down to penalties, turnovers and special teams. Both have a strong defense, good special teams play and offensive weapons. Both teams have the defense to slow the other down, I predict a low scoring, tight game determined by penalties or special team plays.

ND’s kicker is gonna have to eat his Wheaties. Last night there was only one touchback. Several kickoffs went out of bounds, and then towards the end of the game, the return for a touchdown by Salisbury. Saw it coming as the entire right side of the field failed to stay in their lane.

The only thing that scares me is that historically ND has been beaten by fast WRs. East Duplin beat us with speed and great offensive line play last year, which doesn't happen often. I don't think ledford will be able to do the same.

One concern I have with special teams is too often we don't fair catch punts and let them roll. Field the ball!!!

I have seen Ledford in person and on film, both games what stood out to me was their aggressiveness on defense, especially their DBs going after the ball. I believe that is a strength of theirs on defense which will match ND's passing game. If the ND QB doesn't bring his A game and throws up some lazy or bad passes, it could cost them. Ledford has been inconsistent on offense all year but when they are clicking, they can score alot of points. I don't believe ND's defense will give up a lot of points so the game will definately come down to penalties and turnovers. I believe ND has the edge playing at home but if they get sloppy then we could see an upset.

ND QB will need to be more consistent than last night. He put some nice down field passes right on target and then short hopped many of his shorter passes.

At least he didn’t hang his receiver out to dry like the Salisbury kid. That hit after a busted screen nearly put that kid from Salisbury in the hospital. Nastiest clean hit I’ve seen in a long time.

Well you guys held them in check and they haven't played anyone since. We played 3A and 4A rivals and haven't played anyone since. So I am confident but still want to be cautious about their best players. 11 on 11 we beat them. 1 on 1 is about their only chance.

I don’t want to jinx anything... but I don’t think 23 is a true division 1 ACC caliber player... but neither was the kid from Salisbury that smoked North’s kickoff team this week.

This game is going to be too close to give up a touchdown with lazy special teams play.

I see in the latest adjusted 2A rankings that Ledford is ranked ahead of us. These rankings are unreal but hopefully an win over Ledford will give us another big jump as well as if Mt Tabor beats Dudley! Of course what can you say about rankings that have the following; Reidsville#5, Hibriten#9, North Davidson#17, South Point#18, SW Onslow#31, Wallace-Rose Hill#32. Total Idiocy!!

This game will be determined by which team brings the most energy. After north coming off two really good weeks I believe that they will be ready. North has shown a great level of discipline the past two weeks especially on offense. Hands down the best two weeks of the season. In my opinion Norths offensive line is beginning to mesh well and the skilled players are also working as unit great. Defense as well.... North's defense could arguably be the best in the state, considering they have the most shutouts in school history. Ledford has great key players on both offense and defense. Actions by Ledford have been somewhat ridiculous through out the year espically during the recent oak grove game. A middle finger to the stands and some late hits out of bounds, really? Not saying north is a bunch of angels but jeez. North defiantly has the odds but this has been a battle for years. Cant wait to see how this one turns out. North might be looking at 2 or 3 seed in the play offs if this a win.

Ledford had a QB who had been in our system. He stood last year with their D Coordinator so they basically knew what play we were running. To win you do what you need to but the Ledford coaches shared this info with East Duplin before we played them in the state semifinals!!

I hadn't heard that. I did know they took advantage during our games... Well if true we can still say we beat em twice even with that advantage lmao... These two teams are the best in ledford history with only the Brad Hoover teams having an argument. Be pretty sad if every single one of em never won a conference title.

Oh, one more thing to reiterate that point. In 2003 we had a really good team and ledford dug a hole in the ND before our game at their place... We won 14-0 that night. It was far worse than the final score, we had three TDs called back on home cooking calls. Beat their ever living brains in that night, don't even think they crossed midfield lol...

The Cushwa Cup is certainly about quality, but it also depends heavily on quantity. Larger schools have more kids to participate in the non-revenue sports. Small schools such as Thomasville and Lexington can barely field a team in many sports. Ledford has both, and deserved the Cup. It was refreshing to see someone other than Salisbury win it after their domination for a lot of years.

I think Ledford is a quality team no doubt. Game with Randleman that could have gone either way is evidence. Come playoff time I've always wished the other conference teams well but after what Ledford did last year that will be difficult to do. Side note in analyzing how the rankings are being done now, I wouldn't be shocked if not jus the winner but also the loser in this game moves up.

You are correct sir. Ledford fields great athletic teams across the board. The one thing they've never been better at but for a few times is football.

I have to admit I like reminding them of that for a psychological edge. In the 4th quarter, if doubt creeps in...

The decision to play or not will be made no later than noon on Friday.
