Wildcat boys win a close one tonight, 46-43. Darn near tried to lose it though.

ER girls got taken to school. Emily Hege put on a clinic.

More details tomorrow.......

I'll start with the guys first.....

ER was pretty much in control of this one till around the fourth quarter. ND made a run at the end and wound up getting to within one. Biggest reason why was the play of their post player Sam Odum. He was very outstanding that quarter. He did a very nice job of getting position inside and attacking the basket.

Two things really hurt ND: ER's fullcourt pressure early on and the play of Devonte Brooks. ND flat out could not stop Brooks from facing up and driving to the hole.

Bryce Foland also had another smooth game. I'm amazed by this guys ability to make a play at the right time. It was also great to see Landon Loflin back on the court.

ER won this game without the services of Nyhiem Lilly. Lilly was in Charlotte for the Carolina Bowl.

Speaking of football.......I had no idea Jon Maness played basketball until last night. I swear Coach Haley is just signing random guys to 10 day contracts....

North Davidson has a very interesting player by the name of Life Yim. Very bouncy, athletic-looking guard/forward. He might be able to play some D3/Community College ball somewhere.

As for the ladies....

Well.....I got to the game at halftime. I walked in, looked at the scoreboard, and the numbers "34-12" were staring back at me.

It didn't get any better either. Hege and the rest of the Lady Knights made sure of that. If you love basketball, Hege is a joy to watch. Her game is about as complete as it gets.

Despite this loss, I noticed something that put a smile on my face. At the end of the ER bench, I noticed a familiar face. If my assumptions are correct, the ER girls are about to get a little bit better.

You don’t remember Maness playing jv a few years back?
And Lilly not being there left a hole.
Guess where Mr Foland is from?
Boys from down that way are hard nosed…
