Who wins the battle of the Devils? Both come in with one loss. Maiden's only loss is too a highly ranked Hibriten team which could be the favorite in 3A west. Newton's loss last week was to a good West Caldwell team.

It would be good to hear from some fans outside the two schools. This is a must win for both to stay with the favorites from Lincoln County. A loss by either puts them at risk of drawing a high seed in the playoffs.

NC defense is much improved this year, but is it improved enough to stop
Farley?? Maiden defense is mediocre IMO. Maiden has one loss to a very
strong Hibriten team and NC struggled and lost to West. Maiden 42-21
Either way, some mad devils in the stands that night:mad:

Maiden 27-20,only because their at home, don't know much about either team this year,so I'm just throwing a score out there

Truth be told I'm not a big fan of either for obvious reasons..Lol... But since the thread is here...GDG...here goes..Can Farley and co. seal the deal? If he runs like he has his whole career I don't see NC stopping him...improved D or not... Maiden 35-14

No problem Zukeridr. But one has to question your choices because your name leads me to believe you have never been on a real cycle like a Yamaha.

Farley can blaze and he will get lots of yardage. Newton needs to get pressure on the QB from all sides. Maiden's line is average and Newton will have to bring six to eliminate the pass. Maiden is vulnerable in the middle blitzing. Farley may well take off and scramble, by bringing more bodies at least you take the playbook away.

I don't remember if Huff played last week but was told he is a go this week. Someone from Maiden can confirm this. Newton will need a performance much like Hibriten on the defensive side.

Huff played sparingly last week. He did catch two TD passes though.

I was at the Maiden game last week. Show's you how interesting the game was. Never caught the receivers names there were so many TDs.

Lol.....no problem....I've ridden them all...prefer Suzuki's but soon as our last and youngest graduates this year...its either a boat or a Harley.

I doubt either team can stop the other that much. Maiden 35 NC 28

Well GDG I saw the old coaching back for the NC offense last week and no change after halftime...West had a good defense but it was like a totally different offense for NC compared to the first four weeks...when you have 36 seconds and you have a 1st and 5 and blow all to pieces,it isn't the kids fought...same result this week but Maiden by two scores.....

I really wish this game was on our bye week. Two great fan bases, crazy student sections, and good football programs. I think the winner will gain a lot of confidence going into the rest of conference, and that will be the big pay-out. I really think the advantage goes to newton because their coach has the experience in big games... but I think Farley and company might be too much for them. This year maiden by two touchdowns, next year newton by two tds

I only went to one practice this year but it looked like maybe 30 junior and seniors at that practice. Very low numbers and maybe the lowest ever. In 2008 there were 55 to 60 kids and a full JV. Low numbers is a problem for N-C but from what I have seen it is a county wide issue.

Spiking the ball in shotgun formation is not a player's call. But it is never an issue when you play to win early and leave no doubt as the clock ticks to zero.

Maiden has three guys who can get open and have good hands.
Heard Mayfield left Maiden for Davidson Day. He had good throwing skills but would have been wasted. I hear they made him a wide receiver.

Man you Maiden people are unreal. I wear my Red Devil shirt to your game last week and your cops profile me. Pull me in the parking lot riding my motorcycle. And he was on a bicycle ( hard for me to say that). Had my Maiden Blue LED lights on and he says no no you stankin Red Devil. And to think I was running Maiden colors. He should have let me park in the endzone and waive the gate fee. Didn't even know you guys had more than one Po Po with those four stop lights.

Well, GDG, you gotta admit, he probably got the profile right.

My pick is Maiden by 7.......41-34

Ok, ok I see how it is. No love at all for the Red Devils. Maiden you tell center Moody (dad is my friend) we are coming straight up the gut for Mr. Shrine Bowler. Bring on the rain. Might even need the sprinklers.

I think the Warriors scalped the momentum from the Red Devils.
Maiden will continue the demoralizing tonight!

I'd like to welcome all the fans from Maiden tonight. We have a new renovated home side and the away side is almost new. Come see what a crowd for a 2A game looks like (barring rain). In preparation for tonight Newton has roped off an area for Maiden fans to comply with state standards. Plenty of handicap parking now.

Gooo Big Red

Dang,GDG I wish you NC folks would make up your minds. We gave you a wet field last year and you complained about that. Now you want a wet field?

Newton 9- Maiden 7, 9:19 second quarter. Jake Hayman in 2'plays at qb and long run to score.

Good crowd. The one man show is starting to show. Nasty WR that has been overthrown 3
Times for maiden
