New RPI out, what do you think

I’m surprised they got Bunker Hill ranked higher than Salsibury especially after losing to a Maiden 62-13. JMO Salsibury is coming in as defending 2AA Spring State Champions should at least should be ranked higher. But I understand they don’t see it that way.

This is a real joke
Salisbury is ranked too low, but other than that, I like this system. It annoyed me to see “cupcaking” being rewarded so much in the past. Shelby would lose to a powerful Crest team a few years back, then have to travel to play an undefeated mountain team who hadn’t played anyone. Salisbury is obviously a great team, but even their own posters acknowledge that they haven’t played anyone.

Salisbury did manhandle a good Polk County team early in the year. Shut em out..at their place…no other team has done that…even Hendersonville. The Hornets upcoming game against North Rowan should help a little bit on their RPI… but not much.
Salisbury has only allowed 2 teams to score on ‘em…. Thomasville and West Davidson….that Salisbury defense must be sump’em special!😉

😱 We’d be shaking in our boots in fear, having to play them.🙄 And, whose defense wouldn’t look good to sump’em special versus that opposition.

You also fell to mention that Polk was manhandled by Hendersonville and Chase, too.

You are correct….but it’s slim pickings on Salisbury’s opponents…to use as a gauge on how good they are.
Polk and Thomasville… that’s about it.

I’m sorry but don’t put Chase and Hendersonville in the same sentence.... the game against chase was a tight game until we wore down at the end ..... Hendersonville was a complete blowout
Salisbury’s also a very good team I think we had 2 drives the entire game that we were able to move the ball. 👍

I always associated you with RS Central for some reason, my bad.

Who? That school is at the base of my sister’s mountain cabin on White Oak Mtn. We can look directly into the stadium from 2,000 feet. The school itself sets at about 1,000 feet above seas level in Columbus

That’s us .... your sister has good taste in a place to have a cabin 😂
Salisbury did travel to play us at the beginning of the year. We was supposed to play Asheville but something happened and coach replaced them with Salisbury

I'm wondering if there is a chance these RPI rankings change any after this friday's games? If the teams at the top all win and they should, it will be interesting to see. The strength of schedule at the very top is not very good so it'll be interesting to see how this experiment really works.

No, I think whatever it is already fits the narrative thst they’ve already got. Strength of schedule? B/S

Yes, each game changes the RPI. But at the end of the day, just win your games.

There will be little if any change in the RPI; it's already factored in. Yes winning your games is important obviously but seeding is too; otherwise just shake'em up in a barrel draw them out and play, draw for home and away. Itfewer would probably be better fewer expectations.Algorithms are b's. Strength of the schedule is a matter of opinion.

And the RPI dictates your seeding. And one win against a good opponent can change your RPI as much as 0.04000. That's enough to take. 0.59000 team and make them 0.63000. Currently in the east, that jump would take you from #10 to #6 and in the West from #12 to #5. And a win versus a low average/bad opponent, when your're good, can hurt you. Reidsville just dropped from #2 to #4 after last night's game factored in.

Is it perfect, nope, nothing is (except Wiz's yearly "NuMbErS aRe StUpId AnD fOrMuLaS aRe BiAsEd" rant), but it's pretty daggum close to as good as you can get.
