NCPreps Elite 8 2A Rankings - Week 11

IMO the percentage that WRH would win against this sites top 5...
Shelby—5% No way we could stop their passing game
Reidsville—35% Some defensive issues but we don’t pass so they would load the box
Hibriten—40% Fairly easy schedule so we would definitely have a chance
Burns—35% Their only 2 losses are to Shelby and a very strong Kings Mountain team
Southwest Edgecombe—65% Only loss was to undefeated Tarboro but they haven’t played anyone else

Now if we could get fully healthy we might could give them all a run for their money

Let's see what calpreps.com projects:

Shelby 38 WRH 17

Reidsville 35 WRH 24

Burns 28 WRH 21

Southwest Edgecombe 27 WRH 26

WRH 24 HIBRITEN 22 ****

Have they projected a healthy wrh? Thats my argument. Just saying we're in the mix if we're healthy. Yal lay off the haterade.

ain't hating...I respect the heck out of WRH...just merely adding to the conversation ,and you're right....maxpreps...ncpreps...calpreps, etc...none of those ever account for injuries.....it's a part of football and every team has to deal with it....some years are worse than others.............

I disagree. No way us( WRH) beats any of those top 5 teams.
I'm not the brightest light bulb in the lamp, but when does opinion become reality. That's right, when it actually happens. It's only your opinion and in this case you probly one that talks bad about coaching ,calls and just negative toward our ( not your) bulldogs. Tell you what, run that negative trap in the stands Friday night. Bet you get a lot of push back . Better yet ,go sit on visitor side.

Burns and Shelby are definite on this list no question. Don’t know anything bout the rest of them. Hibriten is questionable. Yes they represent our area and love their success and ability to overcome / reload from a coaching change and loss of SEVERAL seniors.

I ain’t downing Hibriten one bit and people criticize and think that I am, I’m just telling you what I see and give another Hibriten fans perspective that knows the team well what even HE says and that is they havnt been really tested yet. Teams get better as the season goes along and they do I agree. No buts about it. When you lose to Alexander Central who IS tough but not top in their conference and have to come from behind in a win against Ashe co who IS ALSO tough but sits on a easy schedule/conference just like Hibriten does THEN and only THEN should it be considered fair that they be questioned as to why they are ranked that high in the polls.

In all fairness to Hibriten what would make North Lincoln questionable to be on poll at all is the loss to Parkwood who isn’t exactly a force in 3A and had 2 wins last year and a come from behind win against West Lincoln. However Parkwood has improved and will be a playoff team this year and it was Norths first game of season against some pretty good athletes.

Overall, I think North and Hibriten should be on poll but both on the lower end of it for now. Just saying.

North Lincoln's loss to Parkwood was the first game of the season on the road on a wet field in OT. They made lots of mistakes...missed two FGs and an extra point. North has improved every game since and are a different team now. IMO this NL team is much better than the one that went to the 3rd rd of the playoffs before losing to Shelby last year.

I understand why North is not getting more respect in the rankings since they are not a team that has been in the playoffs year in and year out. However, things have changed. Coach Nick Bazzle will have them there year in and year out. Once the playoffs start rankings mean nothing...just a word of caution to those who may overlook this NL team.

Agreed, but one particular Hibriten poster on the other site, starting to think it’s you, kill me calling it luck. The game shouldn’t have been that close, if we are being honest here. We dropped two touchdowns, receivers clearly had your secondary beaten, definite tds if they would have just simply secured the catch, and you had never seen Gee Witherspoon ran down until he met those Shelby Boys. Luck was the Hibriten fans holding their butts tight as they saw those receivers wide open, then dropping perfectly thrown bombs.

Pretty sure you misunderstood my point,, its wasnt that shelby was lucky to win,,, its the matchups,,, the injuries,, the calls along the way where you need the luck. Its drawing the teams you match up with along the way to test you for the next round.. Missing catches is not lucky,, that game could have just as easy gone the other way.. Both teams made big mistakes at big points in that game... not always the best team wins.... You call out the fact that gee hadnt been run down wft? That team wasnt built around gee, was built with him,but sometime guys get lucky and can run him down,,, lucky for you,, you didnt have to sit in the snow in Chapel Hill watching shelby finish the drive for five.... so yes i stand behind my lucky quote,, if we were lucky your receivers dropped passes, then so be it,, made for a dang sure regional finals and i was pretty proud of both teams that night...

I def didnt see anyone from Shelby run G Witherspoon down either. Shelby won with a great offense. Lets not get it twisted though. He ran thru Shelby the year that Hibriten won it all. Shelby won it last year, and is always amazing. But none of yall ran G down. But you did win.

Latest Highschool OT playoff brackets have been update. If we can win out, it should be a fun playoff run.

I guess this doesn't really affect you guys but the bracket is still no good as far as 2AA goes. Oak Grove is still slated as 2A and there is no way that is happening. It messes up the whole subdivison and regions as far as east and west.

Clinton has #1 in the East, as it should be. A couple tough games in your bracket, if it stays like that. Save us some left over turkey as we will be hungry 3rd round when we come to dinner at Dark Horse Stadium..... :D

dangit. I was going to go look. But if they
Didn’t take the advice that oak grove was definitely 2AA, then there is no point.

Meanwhile they have ND as one of the last 5 in currently. ND has an adjusted ranking of 63 currently while in the low 40s in the regular rankings. They need to win one of the next two games to make the playoffs. That should bump them up enough to get in but obviously we would prefer to win both to guarantee it lol. North really screwed themselves by losing to Tville and starting the year 0-3 against strong competition.

The bright side of it is North will be dangerous in the 2aa east.

I would agree but gotta get there first lol!

AND, there is one more school east of them that will definitely be 2AA. (OG)

Nick Stevens (editor at highschoolOT) got yet another email from me today.... this time with a link to the davidson county ADM report.

What are the odds that the next projection they put out is just as worthless as this latest one?

I mean, things will change. Someone is going to move west... Forest Hills, I guess.

Agreed. And yes, if ND goes East I like their chances and there are potential rematches with both OG and Ledford. If they go West, well... I don't expect much lol. At this point making the playoffs would be a good accomplishment for salvaging the season after the 0-3 start though.

HIT PLAY

then again second half, he ran AWAY from defenders... so there is that :)

# 11 is obviously fast! But, that’s not quite run down from behind! Credit 11 for sticking with it but he was near hash and Gee was on sideline. So he did have a bit of an angle! 3 more steps and he probably would’ve fell right in behind him and stayed there! But great play by 11. Good hard fought win by Shelby!

Its a shame the state does not let the media televise these games, i would love to re watch the games over the years... The ktc broadcasting group does a great job in their area covering regular season games, wish we could see playoffs too!!

Gee absolutely was the fastest player on the field, period, I’ve seen his 100m times in track, but for one game, and one play, he was ran down, but yeah, at a slight angle. No. 11 is a freshman corner at Western Carolina now.
