NCPREPS.COM ELITE 8 2A RANKINGS
1. Shelby (7-1)
2. Reidsville (8-1)
3. Hibriten (8-1)
4. SouthWest Edgecombe (8-1)
5. Burns (7-2)
6. Randleman (9-0)
7. Clinton (7-1)
8. West Stanly (8-0)

North Lincoln has beaten Newton-Conover, Maiden and East Lincoln - teams with a combined record of 19-8 - by a combined score of 137-14 over the past three weeks. ..how are they not on the list?
North Lincoln definitely has my attention.

Burns and Shelby are definite on this list no question. Don’t know anything bout the rest of them. Hibriten is questionable. Yes they represent our area and love their success and ability to overcome / reload from a coaching change and loss of SEVERAL seniors.

I ain’t downing Hibriten one bit and people criticize and think that I am, I’m just telling you what I see and give another Hibriten fans perspective that knows the team well what even HE says and that is they havnt been really tested yet. Teams get better as the season goes along and they do I agree. No buts about it. When you lose to Alexander Central who IS tough but not top in their conference and have to come from behind in a win against Ashe co who IS ALSO tough but sits on a easy schedule/conference just like Hibriten does THEN and only THEN should it be considered fair that they be questioned as to why they are ranked that high in the polls.

In all fairness to Hibriten what would make North Lincoln questionable to be on poll at all is the loss to Parkwood who isn’t exactly a force in 3A and had 2 wins last year and a come from behind win against West Lincoln. However Parkwood has improved and will be a playoff team this year and it was Norths first game of season against some pretty good athletes.

Overall, I think North and Hibriten should be on poll but both on the lower end of it for now. Just saying.

Them and Clinton feel they have the best 2 teams in all of 2A with the best defenses and nobody in 2A can stop their running one dimensional offenses. Wallace feels they can run over any team in 2A and not be stopped. The darkhorses say they are built to stop the spread, even with the loss to powerhouse Central Cabarrus who's spread was mediocre at best. Not my words(except part of the last sentence).

North Lincoln is on my radar for sure. I like Hibriten but still some unknowns. Burns appears to be pretty strong.
I do think the more Hibriten settles into new system the more dangerous they become.

I never said anything about Clinton being gods gift to the 2A east. WRH, SWO, Clinton, NE are contenders for the east, but who knows what will happen. Best of luck for everyone’s teams out there.

None of those teams run the spread. You usually see the spread with the west 2A teams. So why mention that defense when those are run teams. Your logic betrays you.

North Lincoln feels they're gonna win the 2AA championship this season
No. From what I've seen in my two trips to see them out there, they only expect to win the next game. They are a quiet team with a businesslike approach. No glitz, glammed, or history to precede them. Should be ranked 8, 9, or 10 in this list.

Some of their fans on those youtube news highlights shows behaving otherwise

You keep harping on the spread. All I said was that based on our personnel we have more skill guys with speed than size in the middle. Implying we are probably better suited to defend a spread team than a team that likes to run power. You have taken so much out of context.

No you did not present clear logic, OR you're back tracking.

Yep so did Hibriten.... Can be a great team but ya need a little luck along the way...
Agreed, but one particular Hibriten poster on the other site, starting to think it’s you, kill me calling it luck. The game shouldn’t have been that close, if we are being honest here. We dropped two touchdowns, receivers clearly had your secondary beaten, definite tds if they would have just simply secured the catch, and you had never seen Gee Witherspoon ran down until he met those Shelby Boys. Luck was the Hibriten fans holding their butts tight as they saw those receivers wide open, then dropping perfectly thrown bombs.

Can’t believe Oak Groove isn’t Ranked in the top 10. They are undefeated with wins over some quality opponents, they handed Ledford there only loss.

Ledford is 5-4. They lost to 4A Glenn, Randleman, Salisbury and OG.

There are many quality teams with great records. OG is being held back because of their SOS. I think they make a deep run if they go 2AA East.

Also this is Elite Eight not Top Ten. OG is top ten on carolinapreps.

Yeah and we dropped a pick 6 and muffed a punt that could have swung the game the other way so theres that.

Yep, that’s valid, you are correct, both teams caught breaks, but miss me with the Shelby only won by luck ish.
I agree thats garbage. Shelbys passing game was on point. No excuses from me. Its a players dad on the other site that is talking purely from an emotional standpoint.

You are correct I looked at the wrong team on MaxPreps with Ledford on my mind. I still think they should be in the top 10 discussion

You hold your breath enough on Friday nights(especially against that one spread team) so I don't HOLD it against you.

Gotta love the “”Hateful Eight!”... it’s definitely incorrect.....but I do enjoy reading the banter!
