NCPreps.com 2A Poll - Week 3

Wouldn’t have mattered if he played or not, NE would have still lost.
We get it lol 😂. Dogs better learn how to ThrowitUp or they’ll never beat a team like Shelby. 3 pt loss on the road w/o our starting sr quarterback and a team composed of only 6 seniors. Yeah wouldn’t have mattered anyways.

Week 2 recap in the west...

WBTV bragging on our QB at Forest Hills throwing 6 TDs. He's good in the pocket and scrambling. This week should be another good one for him since we're favored by 50. 😆 The following week will be the real test though when they play Charlotte Latin. We'll be underdogs in that one.

Ha what?? You can't listen or do research? Many teams beat Shelbyville or anyone out west without passing the ball? WRH problem wasn't their rushing attack or lack of passing smart guy. Their defense couldn't stop Shelbyville offense........ SWO and WRH and Tarboro and Clinton have beat the breaks off Shelbyville and the west with rushing offense and NO PASSING.

MA is nobody?
In the grand scheme of other 2A schools playing 4A schools yes sir. For a few years we played up and got drug a few times but learned from it. That makes you a better team in the long run. If you constantly play Sister Mary's home for wayward girls and the School for the deaf and blind, that's as good as you will ever be. Look at how weak the conferences are around here and you wonder why when it comes playoff time area teams struggle. You gotta challenge yourself. That's just my humble opinion.

28-7 half rose up
Rose is not very good this year. We scrimmaged them and stayed pretty even with them in the first scrimmage. The 2nd scrimmage they were able to have some success throwing the ball and they were a little better than us. But I have to say a little better than us is not very good at all in the grand scheme of things. They will have to improve a lot to compete in their conference.

Tried to tell goobs this, he's super high on rose for some reason. They won't compete in that conference.

Basing a team's chances off of scrimmages is laughable. I mean, it's practice. Nobody tries to win a scrimmage. You're just trying to see what works and what doesn't. Testing players out. Scrimmages are nothing more than teaching moments vs live competition. I wouldn't put 2 cents into the results of a scrimmage.

If you can't watch a scrimmage and see who has talent and who don't then that's on you.

I agree Otis. In 21 scrimmage at Princeton, you could see the talent on Princeton and WRH. You could see lack of talent on SWO. I also agree with 98 cause in that scrimmage WRH was looking at different things and you could tell they were not putting their best on the field. Princeton looked like they were trying to win. I thought then that this is Princeton and WRH will be better in playoffs. This year in jamboree( scrimmage), WRH was trying different things and looked terrible but we could see the talent and what WRH can be.

I found it difficult to get a good grasp on just how good Clinton was going to be when I went to their scrimmage because they rotated so many different players in. I never saw #10 with the ball. #2 and #3 if my memory is correct I only saw with the ball once apiece. I think that was by design. But #2 showed an ability to miss tackles and had good vision going downfield. That is why I said after WRH beat them that I could not understand having him at RB. Put him in the slot and out wide and get him the ball in stride and watch him go. You can learn a lot watching a scrimmage. I've never seen a scrimmage involving West Craven when they were not trying to win. It don't matter who is out there to play they are expected to perform. I thought we would have a decent team after watching them scrimmage Rose and Kinston that day. Then a few days later they got White Oak to come to Vanceboro and we struggled against them. Didn't look good at all. First game was West Carteret and we didn't look good then either. I saw something I had rarely seen. Hate to admit this but I saw kids that didn't seem to care. Didn't have that drive to win. We beat South Central the next week and I was i Florida for the first attempt to launch Artemis 1 so I missed it. I would say South Central will have a bad year. Last week at New Bern. They are good and should have a say in who reps the East in 4A. We went down 53-0 I did not expect to compete with them since our numbers are down this year and we had 8 kids out for that game. Havelock is this week. Maybe by the time we start conf play they will be fed up with losing and will start playing with some pride. But I told you @dogs79 in a text after that White Oak scrimmage we were in trouble. You can see it.
