Without picking teams, I see the west winning 1A, 2A, and 4A and the East winning 3A.

I didn’t realize that North Wilkes girls are good as they are. Seeded at 1. They did beat Watauga but lost to them later in the season. That was NW only loss so far.

Big congratulations to the Hibriten Lady Panthers for pulling a huge upset and taking down East Lincoln 61-49. I know they beat the Lady Mustangs earlier this season, but the two teams seemed to go in different directions after that. Hibriten travels to J.M. Robinson on Friday, and I think they've got a shot at pulling the upset down there as well.

Hibriten will have a tough time with Camri Hobbs- about 6’2” D1 prospect that can shoot 3s or post up.
But this shows that the NW conf is probably one of the hardest top to bottom.

Hibriten's record surprises me. I saw them twice early in the year against Stuart Cramer. Both games were close and they gave SC one of their 2 loses.

Yeah we've lost alot of close games to some good teams. Could easily had a better record if we could have pulled out some of those close games.

Hibriten and Ashe would probably both have a better record in other conferences.

I’ve praised Lindsay Adams at Davie on here before, but Maury Patterson at Hibriten should also get a shout out. Like Adams, Patterson took over a program in the 2020-21 school year, just after COVID, and turned it around. He’s built a consistent winner and I think they had gone 20 years before he took over without winning a playoff game. Their best player is only a sophomore, so they’ve got something to build on for the future.

East Burke looks REAL good!

Maiden travels to TW Andrews. Gosh!…the Lady Red Raiders look REAL good too! Tough game for my girls! We’ll see.

Bandys is headed to PAC 7 country to face SW Randolph. Have Mercy!…that appears to me to be a very tough game for the Lady Trojans.

The two played each other back in the earlier part of the year with McDowell taking that one 65-39 in Marion. A lot of Alexander’s losses since then have been fairly close.

Alexander beat McDowell in last years second round of the state playoffs so I’m sure McDowell would like some revenge. Should be a good double header in Marion tonight.

Gotta keep up the defensive pressure. Each round is more difficult than the last.
