On paper this looks like a good match up. From the stats and video I've seen, Heritage is a run first program? Couple of the Madison folks spoke highly of your program.
Thoughts?

This should be good for at least a half....which half is the question!!! If MH is anything like last year... They pound you to death... QB is a good runner and the offense goes through him....tough kid...on the run!! Best of luck to both squads!

We have been very good against the run this year. How is Heritage athleticism vs Madison. Madison had a couple of good athletes. They were very hard-nosed and brought the wood. Very hard hitting. Curious on how the two compare

Heritage beat Madison 56-13.....they are avg scoring 47 pts. per game.....Reidsville 56.............Mt. Heritage gives up 20 pts. per game.....Reidsville 5.5 pts...blowout times are over...but I think the Rams win this one by 14....................

Why so many threads to the same topic?
I copied/pasted this from the other one:

Mountain Heritage will bring outstanding credentials to Reidsville for the second round game. The Cougars are 11-1, have a six-game winning streak and are averaging almost 47 points per game.
They've posted 50 or more six times and have scored no less than 22 in any game (a 42-22 loss to Hendersonville, which narrowly got by Lexington 38-35 in its playoff opener).

Mountain Heritage has the best dual-threat quarterback the Rams will have seen so far this season in junior Trey Robinson (6-foot, 196 pounds). He has been a starter since his freshman year and was conference player of the year as a sophomore when he totaled 2,266 rushing yards, 1,007 passing yards and 45 combined touchdowns in 14 games.
Robinson has continued the pace this year with 1495 yards rushing, 1091 passing and 36 combined touchdowns. In the first-round win over West Stanly, he carried 23 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns and completed 6 of 9 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Junior Denton, a 5-10, 189-pound senior, has 1324 yards rushing and 12 TDs. He had 100 yards in the West Stanly game and also caught three passes.

Looks like a true test for Reidsville, especially for a game this early in the 2-A bracket.

Love the Heritage fans,,,met quite a few back in the day....especially the one with green hair....believe I will make the trip down for this one,,,,competitive early but Reidsville wears them out second half...

agree stan
Seems like the idea was to try to get Rams players to react and get ejected from the game.

Either that, or the Madison players were just poor losers. Where was their coach throughout the game while this was going on? Was this encouraged?

Just in case, might be best to get ready for more of the same Friday night.

They had several players who showed great sportsmanship, but I agree some were looking like sore losers.

I just hope Mountain Heritage has better character than Madison County.
Madison & Heritage are backwards rednecks (no offense to anyone) but both play dirty (mainly in basketball). Heritage is big and tough, I think this one will be very close, and will depend on which side the refs favor (usually heritage up here).

Heritage is in the same boat backwards rednecks that like to play dirty and always play chippy against everyone.

You better believe it! You're lucky you guys aren't playing these teams at their place. Not only are the players hostile, the fans are, too. They would give your players hell, an earful, in the pregame. You have to prepare your players to be tough skinned, and best believe you're down 7 points, before even getting off the bus. I've been at these games, and felt the refs were influenced by the hostility of the crowd.

Seems like the Rams need to take care of business and put them away fast. Need to remember to play smart and don't let that mountain boys get under ya skin just to try and get thrown out of the game.

In that case, we will all be talking to our kids. Thanks for the warning!!!

Got to let the pads to the talking (along with the scoreboard).

You should go to a basketball game at Heritage or Madison. They do everything you said and more. It's hard to win against them in basketball and football (no matter the record) as well due to their aggressiveness towards team members and fans.

We are not worried about heritage. We just have to make sure our kids keep their composure From verbal attacks and let the score board do the talking.

Well this thread hasn't told me much about the actually game. What's the deal with MH football team. Competitive game in the making or another week of looking elsewhere? Talking is part of the game I'm sure neither team will hear anything they haven't heard before just shut up and play ball.

Idk how good the game will be. But I'll say the mountain region is really confident in Heritage, a lot of smack talk from them.

Here's my take on this game looking ahead from what I've seen on film and read about...MH will come in with a very good running attack and the ability to throw if needed...Reidsville will have plenty of skill and speed at the skilled positions and can and will produce points rather quickly...MH will have to somehow figure out how to "limit" the rams QB from doing a Tom Brady impression with his receivers...which will be interesting.(Last year when MH came into Lincolnton for the 3rd round my son #82 had 8 catches for 254 yards and 3tds in the first half) But if what I've seen on film is actual for this game...MH will come out and hit you straight in the mouth and pound it down your throat thus trying to wearing you down in the process...but will that hold up...should be a very interesting matchup for the second round. Another reason why you strap up and play the game...Good luck to all involved....

That QB for Heritage is as tough as they come I promise you that,he gets 5-6 yards every time he runs the ball and he always falls forward, don't let the term"Mountain Boys" fool you they have athletes, their not flashy or explosive on offense, their ball control and just try and wear you down and they are pretty successful at doing that

They always go for 2 after scoring a TD and like to squib/onside kick it a lot. Heritage loves taking risks and their risks are usually rewarding.

Although I hate that drive up there to the ville(and I drive a truck for a living) and if my kid wasn't playing on Friday night as well for the Wolves this trash talking stat comparing thread might convince me to fill up the ride on a full leftover stomach and come witness somebody's demise in the 2nd round.....

Heritage has never played Shelby in Burnsville, y

Avery fan calling a Heritage fan a redneck, you are just jealous that MH beats your sorry ass every year lol.

We have played Pisgah and Madison at their places. It's all the same. We played Bandys(not a mountain team) at their place in '97, they had one brotha on their team, their star player, his name was Chris Douglas. They had a big banner on their side that read, "Lynch the Lions". I never singled out MH, anyway.

Reidsville has an undefeated record playing mountain teams in the playoffs in the school consolidation era (beginning in 1969):
2015 - beat East Rutherford 16-7 (first round)
2014 - beat Polk County 48-11 (second round)
2013 - beat Hendersonville 52-20 and Polk County 27-19 (first two rounds)
2006 - beat Brevard 30-14 (second round)

All of those games were played in Reidsville.

I believe the last time Reidsville took a mountain trip was 1970 when they beat Brevard in the Western state 3-A semifinals. The following week Pisgah came to Reidsville for the championship and Reidsville won 10-7.

In sum, the Reidsville Rams' all-time record against mountain teams is 7-0.

Not counting Bandys, Newton-Conover, Mount Airy, Lincoln County teams and Shelby as mountain teams.

I know that's history and this year is a different animal. Interesting nevertheless in this discussion.

I think Mh fans will fill up the vistor side. Hope the rams fans come out.

Sn: Band needs to start playing blue death again!
