North Stokes And Atkins will be fighting to stay out of the basement and Atkins may win.

Atkins has a great chance to get them in my opinion. They aren't as sad to watch as they were last year. Better coached and better athletes than before in the skill positions plus they have new uniforms (they look like South Stokes's though.) Line play is still very bad especially on offense. That will be what and where that game comes down to. N Stokes's line will hit them hard but if Atkins could use their size they could win it.

I hope these two schools keep playing it's been one of the NW"s oddest yet fun rivalries these 4 years.

N Stokes is really struggling with #'s and injuries right now. 17 dressed out for East Wilkes week and 13 of them were JV aged. They are stretching the 8 quarter kids as much as they can without having to fold that team just to have depth. What I don't understand is why not more kids came out this year; they had a rather good season for that school last year. I know there lost a good deal of seniors but there has to be some underclassman there to play. It's sad.

Like with Elkin JV will be N Stokes's thing to look forward to this year. They beat Patrick County last week for their first win on JV in a while. They probably won't be able to finish their season though.

Thank goodness for the mercy rule; games like this is where teams need it.
