Oak Grove vs North Davidson
Ledford vs Montgomery Central
Central Davidson vs Asheboro

OG and ND and the Battle of the Tracks is this weeks highlight game. The Grizzlies have looked good so far with only a loss to 4A West Forsyth marring their record. The Knights on the other hand have three losses to bigger schools and rebounded last week. This should be a good one no matter who wins, with the Grizz looking to take revenge for two losses in the spring, not to mention three in a row overall and two playoff games.

Ledford looks to get back on track and should do so in a blowout against MC.

Central keeps humming along and got their defining win to introduce themselves as conference contenders. Expect about 500-600 yards this week for the double wing as it chews up and spits out Asheboro in an ugly game.

Looks like Central and North as OG looks horrible tonight. I know they are out couple good players and at least one more tonight. The inexperience in the young team is showing itself tonight. Head coach being out is not helping. Weakness in pass defense has always been there but someone is finally using it to their advantage.

OG played a horrible game and the Black Nights took advantage!! Should have never gone into overtime so to the Grizzlies kudos to you for not giving up. The race for championship lies in Central Davidson and North Davidson. Good luck to both.

I still think its up in the air. ND had a great game tonight. Their coaching staff knew exactly how to prepare them. Both the offensive line and defensive line looked really good. Maybe they are the front runners. I don’t think Central beats OG or ND. I think Ledford beats the tar out of OG next week. I think ND beats Central. I think OG beats Central. Time will tell. I could be wrong.

1 & 2 - Ledford and ND, but only if Ledford beats North.
3&4 - Central (4-2) and Oak Grove 4-2)
5&6 - Asheboro and Montgomery Central

This is going to be a big ol’ mess come playoff time. Like back in the day, when North was last in the MPC. Coin flips for playoff births.

Definitely little separation between the top 4 teams. I agree there could be a mess, maybe ties for first and third depending on what happens.

It was the Tri County 3A conference with Ragsdale and Andrews when North lost the coin flip back in the day.

You're right! Tri-County Conference! Thanks for correcting me!

ND 27 OG 24 2OT
Ledford 31 MC 14
CD 68 Aboro 13

ND and CD in the front seat and setting up a showdown in two weeks. Should be fun. And if you like contrasting styles of football, it doesn't get any better.

Ledford seems to have stumbled a bit. Up 3-0 at halftime, they played much better in the second half but MC made it much closer than many thought they would. Is MC showing improvement? Or was Ledford a paper tiger... Er, panther?

OG gets to play their other rival this coming week and need to get a win to keep pace in the conference standings. OG and Ledford def the game of intrigue next week.

It doesn't get any easier for Asheboro, as they don't play MC til the end of the season to determine last place in the conference.

One thing I've noticed about Ledford this season is that they struggle in the first half. That's going to come back to haunt them eventually.

With what looks like a good game may be a blow out. Other than the fact OG is in a slump looks like Ledford is rising up. OG has a lot against them. Out I think 4 starters may be 5 not positive and head coach out again this week. All that is hurting them. If Ledford is healthy which I think they are they have huge advantage and playing at home too.
