mount pleasant vs Owen

#1 seed is suppose to have a easier road. That's why I don't believe those tough non conference schedules are worth it.

It depends what your program's goals are. If your goal is a #1 seed than play as many cupcakes as possible in non conference. If your goal is to win a state title and you are in a relatively weak conference, you have to play a tough non conference schedule. There have been many undefeated teams throughout the years who coasted through their seasons untested and played a battled tested opponent with a couple of losses who sent them to basketball season early.

It isn't that we weren't battle tested. Whether we played them with a tough schedule or hard one, you throw 4 ints and give up a kick return your done and we are. Mountvwas the better team schedule made no difference.

Why not? The #1 seed is usually the easiest road and the games are usually at home. It doesnt guarantee anything but just makes the road to get as far as you can get a little easier.
THe goal should always be to get as many home games as possible in the playoffs. Teams are seeded by their win loss records both inside and OUTSIDE of conference play. The best teams will advance to their limit, no matter WHO they have played in the regular season, and playing "tougher" schedules does not necessarily make you better, but it usually guarantees you wont have any/many home playoff games unless you were good enough to begin with.

Exactly! We just weren't good enough to overcome our mistakes and Mount beat us in the trenches.

Shout out to the best player to strap it up for Owen. Jager Gardner had 149 yds on 25 carries and a TD. His record career rushing is 6955 yds in 2.5 years at running back. Great Great athlete even better kid. He found time to hold back tears after the game to make a kids day by picking him up hugging him and taking a picture with him. #5 will be missed and talked about for many many years to come. Go Warhorses!

Unlike 99% of the kids out there tonight, #5 still has football games ahead of him. Good Luck to him

Congratulations MP. Especially when you were given very little chance to win.
Thanks Ram, you're always a class act. Good to see the less than class act poster in this thread eating crow today.

Don't know how many times I've read the "highly overrated" Mount Pleasant team comment on this forum during the playoffs. Apparently not so overrated after all.

Go TIGERS!
