Thoughts on this opener for both? I think its a battle for MA playing at NS defending their home Turf pun intended.
I think MA has a few growing pains to start. This group could wind up being pretty good. I think NS is on an upward slope
and that program with Jackson Smith is growing everyday. NS will be fired up for this one. IK its a week away just curious
to he thoughts on this game. I say MA 42 NS 18.

From 1985 to 1996 North Surry pretty much had MT Airy number when they were playing in the 3A Foothills Conference with the Iredell County teams.

Yes, North Surry could have had a 16-game winning streak instead of a 10-year winning streak but Mount Airy broke that by in winning in 1988 & 1990. North Surry has given Mount Airy all they could handle in almost every game and both have given each other some blowout games.

I think it will be a absolute killer for the greyhounds. They are super confident talking alot of junk and Mount airy kids and coaches say nothing. Just working their tales off since March. That QB will have 2 seconds at most before Joyce and clabo and hiatt and the 6 foot 1 250 lb menace yeoman's destroy him. No contest.

I am scared to death of this game! North Surry is definitely working their behinds off, from every thing I hear. They are excited and confident they can not only play with the Bears, but tree the Bears also.

Of course at sometime reality sets in for both teams and then talent, preparation and discipline takes over. Two years ago North had control of the game until mid second quarter. Then Mt Airy woke up and decided it had to play.

Last year it was Bears from the beginning.

This year, if the Bears got the message at Wytheville yesterday that no one lays down for them, and they come out from the git go, it will be a long night for the Greyhounds. But if Mt Airy takes anything for granted, the Greyhounds could race for a while.

From what I am hearing, North Surry will win no matter what the score on the Board is. If the 5000 plus people show up, now that would be a really good gate.

35-28 Mount airy wins a tight game. They key is can mount airy defend the pass long enough for the pass rush to get there. For what it’s worth I think both teams roll after this game

I can remember up until 5 to 7 years ago maybe longer North Surry fans would be on here bragging about how they were going to beat Mount Airy. I guess they have not won in so long that they either stopped NCPreps or just read the posts knowing what is coming is another loss. Or maybe they stopped posting when the last split 1A/2A NWC in 2012 changed to them in a 2A and Mount Airy in 1A. My guess is if Mount Airy. North Surry, East Surry, and Surry Central are all in a split or the same conference come 2025 we will see renewed posting against them all.

From what I hear MA can’t stop anybody from passing on them. They say they gave up a touchdown to graham and had another Pass interference call on a deep ball in the endzone against graham. MA should win big but I think NS will be able to hang close like in 2022 (until the 2nd half) and 2019.

Haven't seen NS so can't give a good comparison
But I would say Graham is better simply because they are state contenders every year. Not big in numbers but big in size. They like to throw the ball a lot.

This is a rivalry game at NS on new Turf. Kids have bought in to Jackson Smith in his 3rd season I believe,

Graham is more athletic than North and better on defense forsure so I’d say graham is better overall. The bears should win by a ton bottom line. I’m only saying it will be close because of people saying the Bears secondary is shaky and NS being good at throwing the football. Again it probably should be bears by 35+ but I think it could be close and a fun rivalry game

Need to get your grandkids to set you up a IPhone. Best decision I’ve ever made. It’s way to much tech for me they have to come fix it every couple months but I can work it most the time.

Mt Airy vs Graham scrimmage. I was there. Graham is the best team Mt Airy will see before playoffs. They are a Class 2 VA powerhouse. The score was 1 touchdown each for Mt. Airy and Graham. Graham is wide open and likes to throw it. The field was soaked and lots of mud. That helped Mt.Airy. Mt Airy will beat North by 17 pts and North Surry would get walked on by Graham.
