Morehead

Exactly the fellow that Morehead's needed for a long time.

They haven't had that guy in house since the mid 00's to provide stability. They even had Gary Whitman and he didn't last long either. Hopefully they've learned their lesson and will stay out of the way and let him grow the program out. It'll take time but I think they can compete in that conference eventually. They play McMichael, Carver, BY, and Rockingham Co. I think they can compete with those schools if not win over the first 3 and compete with RC. The longer he's allowed to stay and do his thing the better.

I'll be pulling for them this year, congrats!

So many dumbasses on here. Whitman was never at Morehead. He was at McMichael.

Best coach Morehead has had in last 30 years with respect to achievement was Clayton Johnson. Good coach. God rest his soul. They had Mickey Crouch early to mid 2000's. He won but was too tough on kids so parents ran him off. Earl Bates won there too but knew he couldn't sustain it so he moved on while he could. Stadler came in and actually overachieved with a group in 2018 but his principal was a dumbass. What's happened since has been a cluster.

McCants is good person and he had a little success at McMichael. Wish him well.

Morehead has a little talent but not the same school it was 30 years ago. Eden is not the same town it was. Rockingham County in general has been economically depressed for over a decade. All the schools in the county have seen enrollments drop. Reidsville has managed to maintain a championship caliber program with transfers. They used to deny it but these days they brag about the “portal.”

Wishing the new coach the best.

Yes there is no doubt Reidsville thrives off the portal but they have a lot of home grown talent as well. People often forget this. But they definitely wouldn’t have as many championships if it were all homegrown but no one would

Titles in 2016, 18, 19, and 20(21) came from QBs that did not go to Reidsville Middle. Lee went to Reidsville Middle, and Im pretty sure he is a Reidsville kid, but his WRs in 23 aside from Harrison and Neal weren't.

You can go all the way back 2002. Very few championships won w/ homegrown Reidsville QBs.

Won’t/can’t argue that there is a lot of homegrown talent. All the more reason why resentment grows. They don’t need much help.

Which ones were not home grown? I know crews wasn't but besides him.

Rams may not get any transfers this upcoming season, but I expect them to win it all. 07-09 was largely all homegrown, 03 was homegrown. 2018 and the Covid year were pretty much home grown. The runner up team vs east Duplin also.

What makes you think they are gonna win it all when they lost in second round this year without Cobb. Do they have someone to replace Cobb?

RB will be a big question.

Rams return 4.5 starters on offense (Neal, Harrison, Smith who was in on 2 back sets and 2 OL) and 3 starters on defense (Neal, DE Pruitt, DT Tynes) a DB and 2 LBs that started a few games each. Gonna need some guys to step up, but still will be a talented team.

Running back and linebacker will be biggest need to fill. But still should have a decent line and very good skill guys. I'm assuming neal might be moving back to db/wr, but maybe that's a big assumption. Goodbes thing is we have a whole offseason to replace cobb and not a game. We would've went deeper in playoffs with cobb, cobb was quite possible the best running back ever at Reidsville.

Gonna be wild watchin how they hold up against Rockingham County; that game’s gonna show just how far they’ve come. If they got the right backing, I think they not just gonna compete, but really shine in that conference.
