We fumbled 3 times in the first quarter but still played NE, the better team, well into the 4th quarter. Whiteville lost, end of story, no excuses the best team is representing the EAST.

I haven't seen Monroe play but I've been watching highlights the last few days. Kaegan Chambers is a STUD. He lit Brevard up! He will easily be the best player Northeastern has seen all year. Kid has thrown for 1800+ yards and rushed for another 1100+ while accounting for 37 touchdowns.

I watched them play Shelby and was very, very impressed. They have kids that can fly all over the field and honestly made Shelby look pretty bad. Their LB no. 21 looked like he was in on every tackle lol

I just keep reminding myself that East Duplin went in and shocked almost everyone a couple years ago by beating Reidsville. From my eyes when I watch Monroe I see Northeastern on steroids. We’re gonna have to play to near perfection and capitalize on any mistakes Monroe makes to win. Our qb is going to have to be at his best. He will be tested by the Monroe DL and he’s got to stay poised. We’re gonna have to win the special team battles and hopefully get a few calls in our favor. I think CalPreps and Simmons are pretty accurate with their predictions but I also know we can win outright.
NE was able to take JK LB Kornegay pretty much out of the game. Moore will game plan against Monroe’s 21. I really don’t think either team will stop the other. The way Northeastern spreads that d out, they’re going to be able to score often. Northeastern’s defense has been very impressive. They’ve made great adjustments and dominated offenses with strength and speed. All that being said, Monroe looks great and NE has not played anyone like them.
I continue to see folks mention ED beating Reidsville but the thing about that game was styles. ED had the perfect game plan and perfect style to combat Reidsville. The Panthers controlled the clock, the LOS, and the game. Northeastern doesn’t play that way. They play similarly to Monroe, but the red hawks seem to have better athleticism and a little better size, although that’s hard to judge from film.
I’d love to see Coach Moore finally breakthrough (even though Goob would be almost unbearable) hopefully he has a wrinkle or two that will give the Eagles an edge.

with all the respect to coach Moore- you can’t do what east duplin did for one simple fact. You don’t have the coach they have. That ED was great individually but were out athleted in almost every position when playing against good teams like WRH, JK, Clinton, and obviously reidsville. None of that mattered because ED had (obv still has) battle Holley. He had the perfect game plan offensively and defensively going into that game.
That’s exactly what I just said. ED had a great game plan. One that Northeastern will not be able to replicate because they don’t play that way.

He’s a good coach for sure. Only job I’d ever see him leaving for would be to be the head coach at ECSU if it ever opened up. He’s a local guy and won’t venture far. I know he’s turned down a couple of jobs at powerhouse high school programs.
His only post that hasn’t been followed up with a shot of bleach after reading.
I am of a different opinion on this. I’m sure Coach Moore is a fine man but I’m pulling for Monroe to get the title. I don’t pull for teams just because of conference affiliation or being from the East. I will pull for Tarboro and did pull for ED against Reidsville but honestly wouldn’t have bothered me if ED would have lost either 🤣 I definitely don’t pull for the Clinton unicorns and I never, ever, ever pull for the jk tiggers. I want them to lose every game in every sport. 🤣

I wish I could make it, dagoob. It's the wife's birthday Saturday, and Christmas babies always feel somewhat left out because their birthday is so near Christmas; plus, she knows when the Horses aren't playing.
