Cherryville is at East Gaston on Friday Sept 23 @ 7:30. Looks like varsity and JV games are reversed on Maxpreps.

There are two big games in our neck of the woods (northeast) Friday. 3a Currituck @ undefeated Camden County. There is no love loss between these two schools and this year should be interesting. Camden is 4-0 for the first time in 16 years. The Bruins have a new coach and a young team and a ton of community support. Currituck has played a tough schedule against some quality Va programs and even in their losses they have played well. They are coming off a tough home loss to Hertford County last weekend. The other game features two good programs who can’t stand each other. Northeastern plays at Holmes Friday night. This is going to be huge for playoff seeding and the stadium in Edenton will be on fire.

Always love your posts and your knack for describing posters teams while keeping things classy and funny at the same time. I love talking about our area teams and I think it’s good for these boards to have voices from different areas and conferences. Creek I live right by Camden High school and I can tell you that the game against Currituck will tell a lot about this Bruin team. Their schedule has been soft so far but they have won convincingly in all of them. This Currituck team is solid and it is a game that people in the east should keep an eye on. I hate it that there’s not many posters from our area, especially considering the success of conference schools Holmes and NE but I also understand why. I saw that 91 is gone for the meantime anyways and I think it was the right move by Deana. As far as Northeastern/Holmes Friday night, I think NE will win but I wouldn’t bet on it. Go Blue Devils! Hertford County is legit and deserving of their ranking and their success bodes well for our conference. Now if we can just get those OBX football programs going 😂.

Northeastern scrimmaged Life Christian in August and they played at IMG last season I know that’s not the same but it is some good rail bird talk. Just so everyone knows, they destroyed us in the scrimmage. That scrimmage Northeastern hosted in August was brutal. We had Hertford County, Life Christian Academy (Va), Bishop Sullivan (Va) and a few other Nc and Va schools.

Hey Creek I know your a hsfb junkie like myself so here’s a couple links about some of our local programs who are having promising seasons and will definitely be tough outs come playoffs. I also noticed that Bunn beat Rocky Mount last week so I’d keep an eye on them.

Virginia has some great football. Their top team beat Chambers to start the season.

They sure do, Oscar Smith High School (Va) is located about 35 miles from Camden County High School (Nc). They produce some elite athletes out of that program and are year in and year out one of the top programs in the state. Some of their games have been featured on Espn in recent years.

FH played Pulaski Co. Va. several years ago. Long ride but it was a great game. They edged us out in a close one. I think they were 4A class up there. Most of our out of state games are in S.C. since we're right on the border. Pageland Central who's won several 2A titles and Cheraw S.C.
