Tinsley certainly isn’t one to run from comp, that’s for sure lol. This team will be such a hard out in the playoffs just off how battle tested they’ll be alone.
That's a beast/great schedule. Teams in 8A are really taking advantage of the regular season to prepare for playoffs. WC, MC, and Rolesville have taken on once in a life time schedules.
Indy, Cardinal Gibbons, Rolesville, West Charlotte is far from a weak in state schedule. The schedule overall looks brutal. Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if they come out .500 with that schedule, possibly even sub .500. I think they very well could have bitten off more than they can chew.
I didn’t catch it until now that Hough is not on the schedule. But they do have Independence, Butler and some other non conference teams that will make interesting. Definitely a tough schedule.
Creek is preparing to lean on a young but incredibly gifted group of sophomores, and this isn’t your average underclassmen squad. The Class of 2028 is already drawing serious attention as potentially the most talented in school history, with top-tier recruits at nearly every position.
They already have the size and measurables of college freshmen. The offense has two dynamic running backs and a dual-threat quarterback who has shot up to 6'3". In the trenches, they feature massive linemen ranging from 6'4" to 6'7", giving Creek a dominant presence up front.
On defense, they bring physicality and speed, with 200-pound linebackers, two edge rushers who already hold Power 4 offers, and a secondary full of track athletes who can fly.
If this group grows up fast, Creek could make noise as early as this season. If not, it’s only a matter of time — because over the next two years, they’re poised to be one of the toughest teams in the state with national ranking potential. Rising 10th graders!

Hopefully you're joking and having fun. Rolesville and Cardinal Gibbons played for the Eastern Regional Championship last year, West Charlotte won the small 4A last year, Indy is a State Contender every year. Myers Park has the #2 edge rusher in the Nation, along with 8 D1 guys. Legendary Coach Brian Hales is coming back to Butler, with a lot of kids staying with the program now.
Please explain your logic? So, you think Richmond would run the table with that weak (In State) schedule?

If your statement as a relatively weak football schedule remains accurate, and they do not win the championship this year, it is uncertain when such an opportunity will arise again. I believe their last one was a decade ago.
MC is crazy loaded. If they can cover they will be a very tough out. Think folks are sleeping on 8A football as a whole because of 32 teams. Sans Weddington and Grimsley there no other 7A teams that would be an 8A favorite. Rolesville, Hough, MC, WC would do very well/dominate in 7A.

Then add in Butler/MP were way down from normal. Remember in 2019 that undefeated season when they got crushed at home to Chambers? RC needs to step up and play some of these top games. MC/WC are gonna benefit from their skeds as far as competition, interest/social media, and preparing for playoffs.
MC the next 2-3 years oh my. Just wait and see. MC lost to the GA 6A champ by 14, beat the GA private school champ runner up, beat OH state runner up Moeller, beat the NC 3A state champ WC, beat undefeated Watagua on the road. Right now MC has a Hough issue.
If we had statewide top 10 rankings regardless of class 2025 IMHO.

71st lost a ton to graduation. Not too sure if they can bounce back immediately. This may very well be a rebuilding year for them. And I agree in general with bigdad1103 overall about Richmond, however they did give 71st their closest regular season game last year by far.
Ten years of ‘almost there’, why believe this time will be different? The concern is not about MC not winning or qualifying each year. Rather, it is that each year MC reps produce advertisements on here suggesting likely to win it all but ultimately have not. This has resulted in a pattern of repeated promises for a decade and you are now endorsing a commitment extending three years.
I can't recall any MC fan predicting a state title in the past 7-8 years.
According to blue and gold,nepsy and bigdadd Creek is always loaded with blue chippers and every year they gonna win it all. Last I looked Palmieri ain’t on the sidelines. Creek ain’t won any rings without Palmieri and they won’t this year.
There are only 2 Creek guys that are consistently on this page. Please post the statement of winning it all. Stop making stuff up. ALSO, why didn't you just say that under your other Name? Why do you continue to say the same thing under different names?
MC has had great seasons the past few years, They definitely have a Hough issue though, Think MC has a good to great year and will be a very tough out in 8A. A bunch of teams in the area have the same Hough issue. Only team been able to compete is Grimsley so cant hold that against them.
The only thing consistent is the nut job coming on as 12 different people, trolling Mallard Creek every year. He's still upset that we ignored him during the Mallard Creek vs Scotland game. A total imbecile. 🤣
Not sure who predicted a MC ship. Hough and Grimsley have clearly been the favorites and before that Chambers.

No hate at all. Just noting that RC 24 had a relatively weak schedule. Its good to play these big tough matchups because it gives you a great gauge. Glad RC is doing much better. NC football always better when the Raiders are in contention.

Richmond is in a tough spot as they are good but not elite. The good thing is RC has a great group of youth ball players getting ready to enter. Right now urban area schools are dominating, but it will swing back especially if RC gets their talent pipeline back. The key to me for RC is the coach. If Denson is Stewart/Barnes/ Hoggard like they will roll and win big. None of those coaches were great outside of RC but were great at RC. They just fit. Denson may be like them when its said and done.
Off topic but the schools you listed have one common theme. GREAT coaches that fit their programs. McFadden/Indy, Greiner/WC, Brown/Grimsley, Baker/Hough, Rackley/Rolesville. These coaches need to be paid more. Also teachers in general. The time and effort put in by coaches and the long term effects they have on children/men/women on society is unmeasurable. A bad coach can kill spirit. A good coach that cares makes a difference in a persons life. The long hours, dedication, sacrifice coaches make is not talked about enough. NC has top 5 football in this country and that's because of great coaching and good talent. Coaches are abused because folks know they love what they do. Like it or not FOOTABLL is king in the US and has more effects on everyday life than we want to admit.

A lot of these coaches need to understand the real reason top-tier talent is leaving North Carolina: it’s about the money. Coaches like Tommy Knotts, Mike Palmieri, Aaron Brand, and even Joe Cox didn’t leave because they couldn’t compete—they left because they couldn’t get paid.
If North Carolina offered salaries comparable to what South Carolina and Georgia pay their high school coaches, every one of those names—except Joe Cox, who’s now making over $500K as Co-OC and Tight Ends Coach at Ole Miss—would likely still be coaching in NC.
The reality is, when schools start offering six-figure salaries, it transforms the job. It attracts elite candidates and retains coaches who might otherwise move on. Better pay means better staff, better performance, and better stability for programs. Some of the HC in Charlotte now, would be assistants if schools started paying top dollar.
Until North Carolina prioritizes football financially the way SC and GA do, the state will keep losing some of its best coaching talent. It's not about loyalty, it's about value. And right now, other states are showing they value coaches a lot more.
I honestly hope those top guys referenced get jobs in surrounding states. They have earned the right to get paid top dollar and put the work in the right way. If that's my profession, and I do well, I should be able to be compensated commensurate with my job performance.
And that's the missing element - and many coaches have said it already, there's no payoff for being a championship coach financially versus going 1-9. That's pretty much insanity and why I stopped coaching myself. I admire and respect these guys for their time commitment and sacrifice.

Agree mostly. But hope they dont leave honestly. They should stay at the schools they are at and bring attention to the issue. By leaving it sweeps it under the rug and NC loses great coaches. With coahces leaving, the article, and just teh success of NC highschool football think we can see results. Question I have is who's responsibility is it to pay coaches?
1. Teachers Pay/stipend?
2. County?
3. School boosters?
4. Donations?
This is so true. Knotts, as much as most of us all respect and admire him ( I know many in NC and SC also hate him) made an absolute no brainer decision to leave NC after he was eligible for NC pension,especially on the heels of the CMS investigation into Indy. I remember a frank quote attributed to Knotts in some article at the time whether it was the Charlotte Observer or wherever wher Knotts was quoted somewhere along the lines of but maybe not exactly " I've got a beach home I've got to pay off." Want to emphasize this in not a slam on Knotts as I'm a big fan of his but more in line with the theme of in general NC coaches are under paid.
I don’t believe staying put will bring attention to the pay issues. CMS has known about this problem for years, and it simply isn’t a priority for them. Coach Palmieri currently earns more than what two CMS coaches make combined with their teaching salaries and stipends. Beyond the love of the game and the glory of a State Championship trophy, the rewards are minimum, and none of those pay the bills. Family comes first. Ultimately, it’s only natural to seek better opportunities and move to greener pastures.
I have no clue who makes the decisions regarding coaches pay within CMS.
The Mallard Creek coach can't hold a candle to the Hoke County coach, it's common knowledge.

Refers to when I posted the thread on this forum about the NC high school football coaching salaries a day or two ago here on the 7A/8A forum. The Hoke County job is in fact the highest paying job in the state of North Carolina for High School football, as ridiculous as that sounds and is. Again my post is not against the Hoke County coach himself and I didnt even name him nor any of the other coaches personally. Just by School. If you haven't look at my thread on the subject. You are going to be suprised is my guess.
