18 Roberson @ 15 Sun Valley

26 Marvin Ridge @ 7 Asheville

#32 Parkwood @ #1 Erwin

#21 Central Davidson @ #12 ACR

I always enjoy the first week of the playoffs because you get to find out a lot about some schools you don't see often. What do you guys think.

My picks

Roberson is much improved this season but I think this will be a tough game on the road. SV 28 TCR 21

Asheville is a mystery to me. I didn't get to see them this year but they seem to be a really good team as I can tell. I know nothing of Marvin Ridge but I know Asheville is a tough place to play. Asheville 42 MR 28

Erwin I do know a little about. Lol. I know we are damn sure not the #1 team in the West but pretty darn good though. Just going by records they should cruise in this one. Erwin 55 Parkwood 14

Reynolds medical team was very busy last week. I feel for them. The biggest loss was when Guest went down late in the 4th qtr with a what looked like a severe injury. That being said, Cosch Laws is a hell of a coach and they are still a dangerous team. ACR 21 CD 14

I agree with you on all those pics. I could see Sun Valley winning by a larger margin though. Regardless the winner gets Weddington and WNC teams know all about them!

Asheville is really good, they should handle Marvin Ridge by multiple TD’s.

I LOVE Erwin’s draw in these playoffs, I see them going possibly to the 4th round. They have the best chance of our conference making noise late in the playoffs.

My guys will have their hands full from the get go, I no nothing about Central Davidson but having to start our 4th different QB this season will not be easy. I have faith in our coaches but sometimes the task is just too tough. Should we win we would get to travel to Dudley, enough said. I know we won’t lay down or not put up our best fight that’s not what we do. Just praying our kids heal up and can play, our seniors deserve that.

I hope you're right about Erwin. I know that 2nd rd game will be fun. Pisgah or SM will be able to bring a big crowd being local. We would face Dudley in the 4th and that will most likely be the end of the run. Of course you can't overlook the 3rd opponent either.

Speaking of ACR, what is the status of Max Guest? I haven't heard anything about the injury yet.

I haven’t heard anything either. He was to be evaluated today but I think everyone is assuming he will be out. Losing him and our top tackler (#44) really makes it tough.

Erwin 49 Parkwood 21

Sun Valley 35 TC 20

ACR 28 CD 7

Asheville 33 Marvin Ridge 30
Going up against three Union County teams. I've only seen one play and that's Parkwood and they are bad. They're only in the playoffs because we are a 3A/2A Conference with only two 3A teams and they are the winner between the two. Forest Hills beat them 50-7 and Monroe beat them 55-6. If Erwin is really good it should be just as lopsided. Marvin Ridge is really down this year which is rare because they are usually good and are known to pull an upset or two including beating Weddington in the last few years. Sun Valley is pretty good this year. They finished second in the conference to Weddington so they will be a tough out for anyone.

Thanks for the input. I didn't know much about these teams. Wasn't Sun Valley really good a few years ago. I remember them having a big time qb or something. Maybe I'm thinking of another team but they sound familiar.

Need a little help from ACR faithful. Planning on coming to game tomorrow night. Wife is recovering from knee replacement, still has some issues getting around. What is parking situation for Visitors in relation to stadium? She does have a handicap placard. And how difficult will it be to physically get to a seat?

Thanks for any help.

With a handicap card you should be able to park up next to the baseball field which is directly behind the visitor stands. Personally I’d think you’d be better off parking behind home stands in those handicap parking spots and sitting at top of home stands, very little walking that way. Not sure if you are a CD fan and just had rather Sit on visitors side but if you are a neutral fan just coming to see game definitely sit and park on home side.

Standard visitor parking is a hike along sidewalk and then uphill along drive to stadium entrance. Once inside there are ramps for easy access to bleachers. I still know some guys over there so I will see about better parking

I concur...this is a much better option. Admin may be keeping those gates locked these days around the cafeteria

They have let handicapped park up the hill where the concession stand is in the past, that’s where they officials park also.

Actually a CD fan, was hoping to sit on that side.
