Mount Airy's winningest Head Football Coach Kelly Holder's son Logan Holder, a graduate of Mount Airy High School, has been hired to lead the Forbush Falcons' program. He coached at Davie County High School in 2023 and then served as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at East Surry High School this past season.

Forbush will be a 4A school after it realigns into eight classifications for the upcoming 2025-2029 seasons.

Of course congratulations to Logan.

BUT, has anyone looked at Forbush lately?
This fine young man's work is certainly cut out for him.

I wish him godspeed, and patience and grit and everything else he will need to succeed at Forbush.
If Kelly comes with him, I have a feeling that the talent level will pick up. I'm a friend of Kelly and who wouldn't want to play for Logan and him.

Virginia Tech Football: Hokies Land Commitment From Wake Forest Transfer Wide Receiver Donavon Greene

Virginia Tech has added a productive wide receiver to their offense
I saw him play in the 2017 State Championship game. He didn't have his best offensive game but his defense was outstanding. He was the fastest player on the field and ran down a couple of Tarboro's backs from the opposite side of the field and saved touchdowns. His high school qb has graduated from college and is now a high school coach correct? Best of luck to the young man and hope to see him in the NFL. If you guys keep sending players to VT it will be known as VT Surry County Hokies.

I hope VT has a nice injury tent. That’s where he spends all his time.

He should have his masters by now

Don’t know current coach, but is he from Mt. Airy?
Yes, he coached under coach Adkins and when I said Logan could coach in the future I was thinking maybe in 5 to 10 years or more. The present coach was the team's choice to take over from Adkins.
Logan is probably only around somewhere between 27 to 32 so there is plenty of time if he wants to return home when an opening becomes available.

One last question, isn’t he young himself.

What I meant was isn’t current coach of a young age also? What year did he graduate from MA?
Just looked myself, current coach is 2 years older than Holder. Coaching at his school, coaching in a single school system. Has been successful and probably one of the top 10 paying jobs in NC. Fantastic community support.

From what I can find he is probably around 33 give or take a year.
He began coaching soon after graduation. Taylor served as a defensive backs coach from 2013-18, JV defensive coordinator from 2016-2021, linebackers coach 2018-present and also took on the role of varsity defensive coordinator in 2021.

So he was coaching when Logan graduated.

Does he have a teaching position? What I read was he graduated HS in 2013, this says he has coached since 2013.
