Looks like Lexington is coming down to Marshville to play Forest Hills in a battle of the Yellow Jackets. Can anyone tell me anything about them? We have one common opponent North Rowan. We pretty much handled North Rowan 33-8 Lexington only beat them by one point 34-33. Appreciate any info.

Athletes and better coaching than the last several years. FH should win.

Lexington is very athletic and has a good sized senior class. They are better coached than the last few seasons, but discipline is an issue for them with trash talking, penalties and show boating. Lexington will go back down after this season, JV was bad and they lose a load of quality seniors.

Coached by Charles Morman, former Richmond Raider QB from the early 2000s. Knows what it takes to win and has improved Lexington immensely. Tough draw for them. I expect FH to take care of business and hit the road for a rematch with Randleman next week.

Sounds like coaching might still be an issue…Anytime trash talking penalties and show boating is allowed that is coaching….

Lexington's narrow victory over North Rowan by just one point suggests they might struggle against tougher competition. I'm curious, how do you think Forest Hills' defense will match up against Lexington's offense?!?!

If they're a pass first offense we are pretty good at pass defense. Plenty of speed in the defensive backfield. We've had quite a few INTs this year. Je'rel Bolder the #8 player in the entire state and Rivals 250 in the nation is one our DBs and you don't want to throw his way for sure. He's committed to N.C. State as a WR. Our D-Line is pretty big and we constantly swap out fresh linemen. Linebackers are good also. We do have a tendency to give up a big run it seems like every game even against bad teams. Why I do not know. Overall we are not quite as good as last year's 4th round team but we're still pretty good. 2 of our 3 losses (Ashbrook & Walkertown) could possibly have been wins if it wasn't for late game turnovers and one bone head kick return mistake. 😆 The only team that really handled us was Monroe but we also didn't seem to adjust defensively in that game to what they were doing with their QB running so much. We intercepted their QB twice that night.

Having a Je'rel Bolder caliber, especially with that level of national recognition, definitely provides an edge in pass defense. The high number of interceptions is a testament to the defensive backfield's ability to read plays and capitalize on mistakes, which is so crucial in tight games. And about the tendency to give up big runs, it suggests that while the line is strong, there might be gaps in the run defense or perhaps a need for better tackling or positioning from the linebackers.

Rodney Smith, IMO, has flashed more than Bolder this season. He’s a problem. You’ll hear his name on both sides of the ball all night.
Rodney has definitely stood out more this season especially on defense and when he's on offense he's hard to tackle. He punishes tacklers. Part of the problem with Jer'el early on was the constant QB swapping. Oxendine never seemed to look for him. Since Dilworth has taken over as QB Bolder has become the leading receiver in the county again.
