Lady Bears Now 12 -1

schedule gets tough now....at WS Prep on Tues and Bishop at home next Friday...big week!

Amazing that they lost 5 starters after last season which was a good MA team and they are better this year at 12-1. New players good players coming up?

Impressive. No answer to the question. I am interested as a lot of fans on here had them I believe at 4th in the conference before the season started. I know with Cherokee they had some very good returning players plus they got a transfer in from TN. (That's the boys). But mount airy lost a major contributors to graduation I believe. So did these girls just rapidly develop, new players a mix?

Had some good jv players that have moved up this year and some talented freshmen. Everybody contributes. Have exceeded my expectations so far. This next week will. Be a big test with bishop and prep on the schedule

Most definitely. That's always good when you have younger players step up. Albemarle has had the injury bug going on but are finally getting healthy. They too have had younger players step up and honestly even though they haven't started maybe how they wanted it's been fun to watch the team grow. But good to see they are healthy at the right time though. I believe they are still without Davis-Hill which should be back any day now. But I know for 2 games I think they were without Robinson Hudson and Davis -hill so 3 major players.

Good luck to your Lady Bears next week. That's a bigtime conference week.

1A west will be unreal come playoff time ...both boys and girls

The Northwest 1-A is a very tough conference just look how Atkins and Prep did the the Garber 2nd and 3rd. Bishop is getting better. it will be interesting to see how Mt Airy does this week considering they lose 6 out of their top 8 players from last years team, they have been a surprise. They younger players who seem to playing well. Prep to me is the team to beat.

Shocker about prep. Lol I heard Atkins is alittle down. The west side of the state is still the toughest part. I just think it is hilarious how these "non traditionals" if you will completely flip or reload year in and year out. I am excluding MA here because that to me seems like a great development job done throughout that program.

Take Roxboro Community for example. Last year they were terrible 8 players and just awful. Played Albemarle in the first rd and of course Albemarle blew them out, but this year I think they lost 1 game lol. I mean come on. Lottery my butt lol.

I am pulling for MA in that conference. I think to my knowledge Coach Mayo does a great job with development and plays with what he has and wins. I will never support prep, Atkins, and Bishop playing 1a. Even though I do have a lot of respect for Bishops staff and what they do.

Exactly.....all it takes is the right coach to make the necessary rounds through the area and miracles happen....

Helps having your school in the middle of a major city as well. That's why I think the 25mi radius is a joke. 25 mile radius in a city includes a lot of people. I understand the enrollment is in line with 1a but when your pulling from that kind of area makes a huge difference. Don't even get me started on the "lottery". I know of a certain charter school that has 6 new varsity players and 3 are 5'11 and up 4 juniors. LOL that lottery worked out well for them surprisingly.
