Independence at Hough and Mallard Creek and Watauga are tough Second Round matchups for sure

I mean, let's be real, Watauga has the home field advantage and we all know altitude training is no joke. Those boys are gonna have some serious endurance and stamina on their side. Tough competition for both teams, but I have a feeling Watauga is gonna come out on top.

It's was a comical game. Actually less competitive than the Lake Norman game. Just destroyed them upfront. I had Wautaga with 3 first downs and maybe 70 yards in offensive.

Clearly Tinsley 's team remember last year. They shut them down all night.
But but but posters here would have you believe they are a powerhouse juggernaut! The coach is amazing, the system and misdirection is amazing, the plays are amazing you’ve never seen anything like it!

Anytime you go on the road and get a playoff win against a higher seed it’s always special. That’s gonna a good bus ride home for those kids.

Habich does really well with what he has. Alot of mtn teams struggle playing teams off the mtn but it doesn't take away that they are a good football team.

Yes, good on the mountain, compared to rest of state not as much. That’s kind of the point

Considering that before Watauga had Habich, there were very few years the Pioneers made the playoffs. Now they're actually hosting playoff games. I'll take it. A one high school county with a population of roughly 54k permanent residents vs mecklenburg county with a population of over a million, I'm good with it. I'll never trash talk another team, these are kids giving their best effort. Proud of Watauga. Proud of MC, they earned it.

I was probably a bit too sarcastic and harsh, congrats on the good season

If Habich coached a school like MC with that talent they would win multiple state championships. He is probably one of the best coaches in the state. I’m surprised he is still at Watauga.

I believe when he was hired, his reasons for choosing Watauga were beyond the game of football. There is more to live than winning championships. Molding the lives of young men, in a location that your family enjoys, that's more valuable to some folks.

I know he loves Boone. But if he coached a school like MC what do you think the outcome would be.

I’m glad to see yall finally waking up to what Hough is. I saw it within the first couple weeks, but others claimed “we’ve heard this story before”. Even the Hough long time haters can’t deny it now. This team reminds me of some of those old creek butler Indy teams. Good qb, good OL/DL that is physical and play to echo of the whistle, and some elite athletes on the outside boundaries Wr/DB that make it tough for opposing coaches to game plan.

This current staff has them playing with an edge and is a reason why I think most staffs can coach any kind of “culture” bc winning is the cure of it all. Hough is the best chance for a title coming back to Charlotte, so I’m rooting for y’all for once, don’t let me down.

Definitely think Hough can send Grimsley home next week. As for weddington, their offense doesn’t impress me all that much, but that after I saw what their dline did to PD’s star studded oline, I don’t think there is a oline in NC that can block them. That is always going to give them a chance against anyone imo.

Whether it’s Hough or Grimsley vs weddington, this is looking to be a good western finals.
