Anyone know about what the elevation of Watauga high is. I believe Avery Co high is the highest and then Watauga high and then Mitchell high
They’re considering moving the game to Saturday. No problem playing in the snow, there are concerns with roads traveling to the game.
Then if they could get to the game then issue could be traveling back home at night. Makes it a dangerous situation either way.
My son’s dream was always to have a snow game. He got a mud game in high school
I don’t know how much it will stay on the roads though. We haven’t had any cold weather up here yet. The ground isn’t that cold yet.
Boone will be crowded Saturday with App State playing at home.
I will say if they do play this Friday night it will lot fun watching the game even if it was just enough snow to cover the ground some.

If they do move to Saturday, I may get to attend. Ultimately, I don't want anyone from MC or Boone for that matter, being hurt while traveling up the mountain.
Snow game on a Friday night playoff game would be cool for the players to experience but if traveling safely up and down the mountain is in question, then postponing the game is inevitable, you have to do it to ensure safety.
And it's homecoming. Granted the weather may keep some folks away. 40 cloudy and windy. I've seen alot of people trying to sell their tickets.

looks like now most of the snow will be toward Avery, Mitchell, Yancey, Madison Co area. And even some in Buncombe Co. Watauga still could get some but not as much..
If the travel is safe( you can actually drive when it snows) then it should absolutely be played Friday night. Awesome environment for the community.
Source coming from Meteorologist Brad Panovich, looks like 1-3 inches in the Boone area with higher amounts in higher elevations and mountain tops.
Hopefully accumulation will not happen, but if it does one of the biggest problems can be trying to keep yard lines, side lines, and end zones visible. I would imagine a place like Wautauga has access to snowblowers (or whatever it takes) to at least make sure the field is readable.

The house team is definitely not backing out, they love the conditions and The Creek is backed and ready to go. Unless something terrible happens with the roads, it’s on and popping.
Anyone planning on going and watching the Watauga n Mallard Creek game. I will be down here watching the Mooresville game. But I will be keeping an eye on this one.
I’ll be at the Hough and Indy game. Wish there was a way I could be at both.
I just hope game is good i think MC will blow em out but then again I thought same thing last year too
