Shelby Defense will be to dominant, offense will catch up! Big ups to Wilbanks for scheduling good non conference, we will run 2A. I’m starting to think we need to be in a 4A conference.

Calm down. Now remember we lost our entire offense and that offense was special.

Yea, we have 4 o line man 3 recivers and a QB and RB to replace. 3 or 4 of them playing college ball this fall. I have faith in our coaches but that's alot of talent to replace.

With that defense, special teams will be good for 1 score and short fields will account for another at least. Anything the offense give you will be gravy.

No Question at Qb..we have Gabe Huitt comming in to play Qb...will be a sr. 6-2 190 and can sling it
His parents are from Cleveland Co. Moved due to job and now comming back home.
The Golden lion family excited to have them.
He played last 2 years at Nations Ford in RH.
After watching his highlights kid can sling it..
And can run if needed...
We get a line to come together WATCH OUT..
Things looking good...could see few other players come our way
Again welcome to Shelby Huitt family

Maybe if your comparing both schools playing TJ at QB position.
But Tj will used on about every play this year.
So he will be highly exposed.
I wish him the best, enjoyed supper clubs etc with him, but he moved on and time for Shelby too.
Im excited to have Gabe at Qb. Im very confident he will play with all he has for Shelby his Sr year.

Shelby is the favorite but don't sleep on them Dogs. Perhaps the best two teams in 2a are in the same county again.

I have it on good authority we have an explosive offense and a smothering defense. So don't even think about it!!!!

Let's just hope we have a football season, as Cleveland County football should be in line for another special year in 2020-2021.

KM, Crest and Burns will have returning starters at the QB position, which to me, is the most vital position on the team in HS football. Shelby will be breaking in a new QB, which should put them a little behind at the beginning of the season, but hopefully their Defense can help them until the Offense comes around.

If Middle School and JV football have any implications, this should be KM's year, and then Burns should be a load the next couple of seasons.

if everyone stays put this would be correct. transfers always happen though...

Exactly lol. They weren’t last year either
My question is how do y’all know this without having seeing Burns play. Frank is always making a point about people judging teams who they haven’t seen play. Yet, he contradicts himself, and does it often.

Y’all are my guys and all, but I think Burns was better than Reidsville last year. You lost to a 1AA team. And, I always find it interesting how Reidsville can average 70 points per game during the regular season, then your ppg drops drastically in the playoffs, and especially in the state championship, only scoring 14 points in last year’s state title game, and 21 points the previous year.

Shelby hits its average from the start to finish of the season, and you guys have no argument of who played the tougher opponents. Since this run of championships, Shelby has blown out all of its opponents in the state title games.

I get it, though. Your conference reminds me of the iOS software updates. Cupcake 1 to 1.7, hence the godly points per game average during the regular season. Teams in Cleveland County are athletic and play defense, though. Reidsville is respected here, and is a historically great program, among the greatest, no doubt. There’s no debating that. But, that Reidsville mystique holds no weight here in Cleveland County. Shelby, Burns, Crest, and Kings Mountain would easily want that smoke.

To hear you Reidsville posters tell it, you really have never lost a game, at least in years. It’s one excuse after another. I’m not sure if you guys can ever lose.
Defensive scheme vs East Surry.
Refs and a fumble vs WRH
Injuries after the Shelby wins.

Damn, homies!

Defensive scheme was bad vs east surry. But hats off to them.

the fumble wasn’t what did us on vs wrh. It was the late hit out of bounds in overtime. That top 5 in 2a 2017 was legit.

That blowout vs Shelby we did have a bunch of injuries. I still said Shelby was the better team regardless. We didn’t have the wideouts to threaten Shelby that year. But it would have been much closer.

As for burns it would have been a good game . East surry was a top 5 2a team, just like no one would argue Shelby being a top 5 3 a team

Just win, baby!

And I think Boaz and Co proved themselves againt the Rams and Tarboro, they could have hung with anyone in 2A for sure.

Anyway, Burns is a solid team and will be in the mix from the west 2aa amd beyond absolutely.

WRH could be really good this year, cannot tell you what happened to that team last year (first thought is they had internal problems, because the team was super talented, but still young). If they can straightened out whatever happened last year, I could see them challenging anyone.

NE from what I am hearing is loaded again, I just don't trust a team that has never won it all. Example would be E. Duplin, for some teams the big game is just to much from them or in some cases the west will just have a super team that nobody from the east could beat.

Clinton and SWO could be alright, SWO still has the same good points (there O-line play has been exceptional for the last few years). SWO cannot find speed to save there life, and although it has been proven you can win a 2a title without passing, what you have to have is speed however and SWO just ain't got that. Clinton I don't know much about, but if they bring back a strong core from last year they could be out of the world good.

Shelby could very well win it all, but I don't see a cake walk at all!

Hmm, I’m not sure I see anyone staying with them. Maybe hibriten or burns

Good read, but the teams you mentioned won’t likely see Shelby anyway. There concern will be Reidsville, and despite, as you mentioned, a team winning a 2A title without passing, those teams still need to figure out a way to develop a balance offense to give themselves a chance to defeat the Rams Gotta be able to complete a few passes to keep their athletes from loading the box. Quarterback draws and triple option will not get it done.

Speaking of Reidsville, though, Anson County could make them play some ball, before advancing to the final game. Anson is usually very athletic, and I don’t if I just simply lost track of time, or they haven’t been as good lately in recent years, but I was shocked to see they have fallen all the way down to the the 2A division, period.

Speaking of Shelby, Burns, and Hibriten. Shelby is the favorite, but I hear Burns has another dynamic, young runningback at their disposal, some Haynes kid. They return a veteran, battled tested quarterback, and their defense will be stout.

Hibriten is supposedly going to a have an absolute smoker. They return a fast, dynamic quarterback, and a great young runningback. This is going to be an interesting season, and I am optimistic there will be a season.

Could be a sleeper, no doubt. Pisgah had some impressive wins last year, holding Mt Heritage and Brevard to a combined 7 points.

Fall 2019: Rams holding Brevard to 7 was not an impressive win

Spring 2020: Pisgah holding Brevard to 7 points is an impressive win

But im the one that contradict myself lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We have a lot in common. That’s why we clash often. Impressive for Pisgah, though. Lol. I hold Reidsville to a different standard.

If Ruff was at Shelby the Huitt kid would not have transferred there. Huitt has history of transferring to schools that he has no real competition at QB position. His parents transfer him to best situation regardless the time of season.
