I have some time on this snow day... So I did some searching. I like to have a mental picture of where each high school is located in the state. I wanted to know who had the furthest journey to their game this weekend (didn’t take much thinking to figure that one out)... Anyway, I don’t know if anyone else will find this interesting or not. But, here it is:

NCSU GAMES
Tarboro High School - 77 miles (1:12)
East Surry High School - 124 Miles (1:56)
North Davidson High School - 107 Miles (1:38)
Shelby High School - 200 Miles (3:02)
Reidsville High School - 86.5 Miles (1:22)
Northeastern High School - 171 Miles (2:38)

UNC-CH GAMES
Jacksonville High School - 145 Miles (2:24)
Charlotte Catholic High School - 153 Miles (2:25)
Southeast Guilford High School - 57 Miles (0:57)
Weddington High School - 159 Miles (2:32)

DUKE GAMES
Murphy High School - 328 Miles (5:16)
Pamlico County High School - 160 Miles (2:37)
Scotland High School - 108 Miles (1:53)
East Forsyth High School - 72.5 Miles (1:13)
Wake Forest High School - 30 Miles (0:42)
Zebulon B. Vance High School - 132 Miles (1:58)

The mileage and times reflect google’s preferred routes. There are a couple of routes that I didn’t agree with and would have likely done differently... But I think they at least paint the picture that I was curious about.

Back to the snow...

I used to think that one and a half hour drive from Reidsville to NC State, when I was in college, was long and arduous. Now I drive one hour to work each way everyday lol. It was nice to be young and oblivious once haha.
