What are your thoughts. A high octane offence against a defense that gives up not many points. Something has to give. Our offence is pretty good with the run, but not the pass. Does the offence or the defense win this one? sorry I left out the L

Edenton is pretty tough if you can stop the run you have a chance but now they QB been practicing against the sorry teams the conference passing the ball so they going to be a tough out

Whiteville has a pretty good offence and a very good defense. Should be a good game. Even though we are the # 3 seed, we will probably be the underdog in this one.

This will be where we see which part of the state is stronger. Packs O has scored a lot of points as have the Aces. The D that holds the best will decide this one. How many players for the Aces play both ways?

I’m not going to make any predictions on this one because I’ve never seen Whiteville play. As for Holmes they won’t be an easy out. They are the one team in our league who would fit perfectly in the ECC. They love to run the ball and do it well. I’ve also noticed that they seem to be throwing the ball a lot more. I think it’s going to be a toss up and you guys are in for a good game. This Holmes teams will be a far cry from the Camden County team your Pack faced last season. Holmes is part of the NC3 and lost in close games to Hertford County and Northeastern.

I supose we will just line up and go punch for punch and see who comes out on top. Maybe we can catch a break or two and win the game. Who knows. that's why they play the game. If all our players are healthy I like our odds. Hope both teams have a safe game.

Your Pack will be the favorite and rightfully should be. Lots of great second rd games and this is one of them.

I saw where they have scored a bunch of points, but they have allowed a ton of points. Pack has given up around 40 to 50 their last 9 games.

I’m a NE guy but I’m pulling for our conference teams. Not knowing much about Whiteville other than what’s posted and the Holley Tree connection with Price I think your Pack should advance. There’s a reason you guys are a high seed. Similar to the DC teams you need a good start and keep them playing catch up forcing them out of their comfort zone and to have to throw the ball. Your fans will be in for an awesome game and the Edenton fan base will pack the visitors area. They really support their program.

Maybe they will move the game to Saturday so more people can come then you might come if everybody else plays on Thursday. I am sure every coach in our bracket would be their if they play on Thursday.

I’d love to see them play some on different days if possible. By playing on Thursday night a lot of people who don’t have kids on the teams aren’t going to drive the long distances due to having to work the following day. Edenton to Whiteville is a long drive for a weeknight but there may be no other choice. Y’all have fun!!! @AcesWild2323 is the only Holmes poster up here but he knows his Aces and is active on these threads.

Aces Wild it sounds like both teams like to pound the ball with a pass every once in a while. I think this game comes down to who has the best defense. Could be whoever has the ball last might win if there is enough time on the clock, or who has the best kicker. I hope your fans are able to travel since it is on Thursday. I know it will be difficult. Hope everyone has a safe trip, and the players have a safe game to.
 
Ditto to what Strick said. If Holmes doesn’t play any both ways that could make a difference. The Pack does and has all season.

Rick you were at SC Russell first year. SC was 12-1 going into Holmes game. They put beat down on SC. Coach's son was QB for Holms. Their FB helmet was right on guards butt every play. RB would follow him or QB would keep run off him. They were very well coached team. Very strong players. Hard to stop that QB then he was a stud. Good luck I'll be pulling for Pack.

Looking at the weather it was absolutely the right call to move the game to Thursday. I hate it though because we travel well and our fans show up. I and a bunch of others are not going to make it on a Thursday but would have been there on Friday. The folks from South Columbus and Tarboro and Goob can tell you how well we travel.

The QB you speak of was Luke Hoggard who is Coach Hoggard’s son. He was on the team at UNC for a year and then played at Western Carolina and is now a coach at Georgia State.

Right now it is calling for more rain on Thursday than Friday. They need to change the game to Saturday because it is suppose to be clear. It is going to be a mess if the weather is right and that is a big if. If the weather is right there will be a bunch of turnovers and will determine how the game turns out. I would hate to see the game played on a sloppy wet field, but when I played I loved it.
 
Any radio broadcast for this game? Last week I couldn't find one, I guess 103.9 is not doing the playoffs??
 
No argument from any Pack supporters on that. Think we will see just how good our defense is.

Definitely going to be an awesome game. This Holmes team will no doubt give your Pack it’s toughest test since week 1. Wish I could attend this and the Hertford County game vs West Craven.
 
Pack lost to North Brunswick 10-1 their only loss to New Hanover 10-1 their only loss to New Bern. New Bern 11-0. Pretty good company.

Yes I went on Maxpreps and was looking up your schedule and how those teams have fared this year. Holmes went toe to toe with us and they made a huge comeback on Hertford County in the second half only to come up short. There is no quit in them, they play with a lot of heart.
 
We are about to see how much heart the Pack has. I just hope all the players are healthy and ready to play. Our backups have been playing very hard and have gotten a lot better. Still don't know if # 5 will be ready to go, but we have 4 other backs that have field in very well with around 500 yards each. So Holmes can't key on one back. Like i said in another post that i wish we could throw the ball a little better to open up the run more.

Well at least your Pack is mostly healthy, thats better than a lot of teams

I would feel better if we had our stud RB and DT # 22 back , but he tore his ACL. He is 5'10 260 pounds. This kid is a stud. Maybe he will be back next year if his rehab keeps improving. He is a man among boys.

i hope you are right, because i would prefer Saturday instead. I wish all the games would move to Saturday because it might be clear with no rain if the weather does not change. That sure would make it better for everyone.

If Whiteville defense is as good as you posters claim you should win. But Holmes offense is better than you have seen since early in the season. So toss up

I’ve seen Holmes quite a few times never seen Whiteville play. Holmes runs the triple option. Your linebackers have to play assignment football or it will be a long night. One for the dive back one for the pitch back and one for the quarterback. You cant abandon the pitch back or he will kill you on the perimeter. Good luck it should be a great game
