Carson gave East Rowan their 4th loss on the season. ER sits at 15-4. They definitely going through a rebuild season. I don’t see them a threat in the State tournament unless they fool me. Carson from what I hear has an exceptional player ( Kindal Sifford ) that will be playing for Rowan in the American Legion League.

After listing the teams above I thought I accidentally left out TC Roberson. But it appears they are listed at 13th in 4A. But their only loss to a in state team was Charlotte Catholic 7-5 score on 4/12. The other loses were to out of state teams. One to St Johns ( Washington D.C) who is 18-1. They lost to Doral Academy who is from Florida, and lost to Parkview who is from Lilburn, GA.

I believe Laney has proven itself to be a better team than Ashley so far this season. Laney has two high quality pitchers and a solid team. Their second year coach has done an excellent job. Their record reflects struggles early in the season.

Ashley is still the higher ranked team but I have heard they are down one of their top pitchers due to injury. They have lots of experience and should make a deep run in the playoffs.

New Hanover is still hanging in there and has 3 quality pitchers. They have been much better offensively than expected but any playoff run will rely on them scoring runs.
NHHS has Pinecrest, Randleman and Corinth Holders next week over spring break.

Keep an eye on West Rowan ( 17-3) as they sit number 2 in the West 3A. West Rowan is leading 1st in conference and East Rowan number 2 in conference. This conference has been strong with South Rowan winning State 3A in 2022, East Rowan winning State in 3A in 2024. West did real well last year and I anticipated them of having a good season this year. When West Rowan meets up with East Rowan that should be a good battle.
