HICKORY @ EAST LINCOLN

EL should match up with Hickory pretty good. Hickory really only has 1 weakness and that's there offensive line. If EL can exploit that then they can make a game of it.
Yeah I'm thinking it could be a closer game than what some people are thinking. I think it Hickory wins but I think maybe by 6-10 points tbh. I don't see it being a blow out really.

Hickory has another weakness- Defense and Special team go back and watch #4 cook Hickory a few times esp on Special teams and Hickory gave up at least 4-5 chunk plays vs CM so If u got speed at WR spot then u have a chance imo

East usually has faster guys in open space you usually see this in the spring. 4 way battle with NL EL, Statesville, and the favored Hickory, this is gonna get TIGHT. The NL EL his gonna be closer than last year.

NL gave up over 750 yards in offense to East Rutherford last week. Those numbers will cost you with the other teams you mentioned. Even with that poor defensive scoring NL actually won the game 56-55.

These next two weeks will be big in conference. Statesville will play N. Lincoln, then East Lincoln. Then of course Hickory has East Lincoln. Be interested to see both Hickory and Statesville win these games and would be neat see Statesville n Hickory play for conference championship last regular game of the season.

I was wondering about that, North known for a smothering D and let ER run wild. Nobody at that game that posts on here. I guess one thing to bear in mind East Rutherford is good this year but after that game it prob brought North’s stock down alittle. I can’t see them doing anything with Hickory but their game with Statesville and East oughta be pretty good

I look at stats for ER in this game thinking that there is another great RB over there that ran for 300 or more….I was wrong….ER slung the ball all over the place against NL.

Do what?…I was surprised.

Yeah me too. I guess North has to get to the QB early cause no notable backs behind the LBs

Statesville offense could put up 50 this game. I'm seeing a route

East Lincoln vs Hickory will be a barner burner. Im say Hickory by 10
Ehhh maybe not 50 but very well up to 35. My best guess. Surely North D steps up after that barn burner last week

I saw the ER game, North's D line is soft and can't pressure the qb, secondary is also suspect...

North can move the ball on them but dang that D couldn’t stop much. Statesville score first play of their possession 80 yard run SMH. Currently NL 15 to 6. Let’s see how this D holds up

Good defensive player hurt for North. Knew this momentum was too good to be true. He got up good deal.

How did EL look overall? Like better or just as good athletic wise but wasn’t executing or having bad luck with some plays or what?
East Lincoln is not bad team but to me Hickory was definitely the better team. The RB for EL will be lethal in the future games. Last week Hickory played against Cox Mill I didn’t think Hickory looked as good especially defensively in the 1st half. This week Hickory looked totally like a different team. Someone else may give you a different version from what I’m saying. I do think East Lincoln will be tough out in the conference from here on out. Next week we will know more when East Lincoln plays Statesville.

East Lincoln tried to shorten the game and Hickory didn't participate with that plan. Take away EL's QB and this game would have been way out of hand. For those commenting on Hickory's OL and defense, you'll need to change the subject. Isaiah Lackey ran around and over that Mustang defense tonight. Hickory's defensive plan was spot on and kept East Lincoln trying different things. Their best play was for their QB to scramble and find an open receiver. This game was not as close as others will want to make it. Bring on the Knights!

I agree CHEERDUCK about the game not as close as the score showed. Just out of curiosity do you know how many yards Lackey had in this game.

No sir. I'll do the stats in the morning and let you know. I'm guessing between 125-175.
Lackey finished with 164 yards on 25 carries, Stober was 14-16 for 230 yards.
Hickory ran 46 plays for 410 yards and EL had 68 plays for 341 yards. As much like last year, Hickory scores quickly and the competition usually dominated the time of possession.
