Yes,
South Point and Hibriten played 7-7 in the first 12 minutes as it was played with game timing. In my opinion Hibriten looked better than SP even though it was played to a tie.
South Point won the next 12 minute series 14-0. South Point got 2 possessions and scored on both. Hibriten had 2 possessions but one was with limited time as SP had used most of the clock in their 2 possessions.
My take on Hibriten- They flat out look the part. They have a lot of big kids and more than enough athletes. They seemed to be well coached so I would think the coaching change did not hurt you at all. Hibriten kids played aggressive but under control. Hibriten is developing a passing game which will certainly help their cause. I think as the season rolls on Hibriten will be in the thick of the 2A race.
South Point has a crazy beginning to the season. Neither of the QB's fighting for the starting job were present at the game. South Point had to utilize a kid who was the backup QB in middle school a few years ago to run the offense. One of the missing QB's will be back next week, while the other has an injury that suggest he may not be back for a while. To make matter worse for SP, Ray Grier did not play as he was hurt in the Country Day scrimmage earlier this week. Some suggest he may be out most of the season if news I am hearing is accurate but we will have to wait and see.
With that said the offense did what they do against a good Hibriten team. They ran the ball right at Hibriten pushing the ball down the field. The play calling was even more bland than normal with little flair. The QB actually threw a few very good balls for a kid that is playing out of position.
Hibriten did move the ball against SP but nothing major however one Hibriten drive ended deep in SP territory due to a turnover.
With the QB situation at SP and Ray Grier being sidelined for some period of time it is hard to know what to expect heading in to a season opener at Crest. But our kids are going to be well coached, they are going to play hard, play smart and bring all they have Friday night. That formula is what Raider football is all about.

The Hibriten offense had multiple facets and I agree it was good but did not sustain anything. I thought your defense was good also but our OL and fullback made the Raider offense better than the Hibriten offense which was reflected in the score. With SP's QB situation we didn't do anything but run the fullback and throw an occasional pass. If its played live tomorrow it would be either teams game. Good luck to the Panthers this season.
I was comparing today to last Saturday vs Crest we didn't move the ball at all in game situation last Saturday.
It will take some work but I like the wrinkles they have added. We don't have the A backs that we have had in the past so got to generate the offense a little different. QB has thrown the ball well thus far.
We have these Crampers right where we want them, confident!
