I’ll be the first to eat my crow, I didn’t think ED had much of a chance and I didn’t think you could beat Reidsville w/o passing. I understand stand there was one big pass for a TD but everything else was all on the ground. That play by #15 should be a sports center top 10. I’m happy for you @oldway55 !!!!, you guys finally got one, next year we’ll hopefully get ours. That Reidsville team is very young and I believe they’ll be right back in the cship next year. I guess you can win a state championship at the 2a level w/o having much of a passing game. Program changing win and I’m happy for “most” of the ED posters

Honestly I gave them hope, but didn’t think they’d win. I think Reidsville is the better team, just not today. The Rams shot their toes off all day, it's why you play the game. ED got all the breaks, but so what, they are the CHAMPS!!!!

thats a bunch of bologna! the very best 2A teams ive seen in history were the great Clinton teams of old. they passed very little but were dominant against almost everybody they played.
Most pollsters.need to go down East and actually watch and appreciate eastern football.. You can’t appreciate what you don’t see.
Reidsville looks loaded next year. I think the East will be between NE, Clinton, & WRH. Whiteville may make some noise too.
Your dogs will be no threat, I consider your dogs playing in this years eastern championship the same way I considered Swo playing in the 2017 eastern championship, frauds.

I called it and said ED was a bad match up for Reidsville as Reidsville soley focused on stopping the air game mostly, although actually Reidsville DID slow the run game and stop it from scoring most of the game.. ED won off special teams and Reidsville mistakes which is still sign of a smart team using mistakes to your advantage. ED deserves it, and it was well earned by them. but I PROMISE you it wont come often and it wont be Wallace.
Wallace is a good match up for ED, but in this UNIFIED league ED is the ONLY team from DC that will get any titles. You can book that.
704 teams are built to shut the run down, and if any of the other teams would have gotten by Reidsville it would ahve been a bad matchup their defenses and offenses are set up to blow your style of play out.
Furthermore East Duplin WON this game by.....*drum roll* PASSING the ball. So I sit correct you pop warner puppies. Can't think to save your lives. Think it through before you make these nonsensical posts.

Luckily for myself our program runs an offense similar to Reidsville. I know it’s rare over here in the east but I love the offense Coach Moore runs.
I had wrh beating NE when we lost our best player and even posted that up here. It’s not hate either, it’s just an opinion.

I really felt if ED could control the ball and keep it out if Reidsvilke hands like they did most of the 1st half they could win. With a running back like you got you can play ball control like ED did almost running the ball exclusively. It was a winning combination. Excellent call by Holley going fir it on the 4th and 5. A field goal wouldn’t make the difference. It was kind of like the Horses going fir 2 and tge win. I’d ED had kicked the field goal and Reidsvilke returns the kickoff like the did following the TD the panthers would then be down by one. The television broadcasters apparently didn’t understand that. The Panthers played just the kind of game I thought they would need to play to win. Congratulations on their first State championship.

Like I said on another post, Wallace & Clinton could have beat Reidsville. The East had the more powerful teams this year.
Reidsville got these lady bugs feeling themselves a little too much. Those other pop Warner teams couldn't step on the field with us out here. Pipe down.
Why in the world did ED kick that ball deep I never understood that call.

It's going to be tough for any 2a team besides Reidsville to win it . Heck there's getting to be so many good teams is 2a overall you have to have a damn good team and alot of luck to win it all . I would say Reidsville will be right back next year but losing championship game can linger into next season but coach Teauge will figure it out .
I was impressed by the sportsmanship both teams showed that's one thing I like about Reidsville win or lose they do it with class and set a good example for the young kids in the community
Was extremely impressed New Bern and East Duplin’s running game. Not just the schemes but the way the backs ran angry and driving forward for extra yards.
I can’t help but think Battle had his dad on his mind as the seconds ticked off. The man and legend that taught him the game, won 412 football games but had the state championship elude him.
I am still pumped about the East Duplin win.

I was impressed with ED’s running game when they stuck to their base offense. The double handoffs got a little corny to me, and killed some momentum, in my opinion, so did the wildcat, in my opinion. Because, it made it too obvious who was getting the ball, and it took Hall out the offense.
The Gaby kid is a gamer, and looks to be a great fit for any of the service academy teams. Hall was very impressive, too. He was slippery, and very strong for his size. I thought ED went away from him too often at times, though. Maybe, ball security was a concern.
Loved the Panther’s defense. The Jackson G kid is a heckuva linebacker. That no.8 and Hall impressed as well. The one kid who scored on the fg return and had an int, Moore, I think was his name, he showed great awareness. To have the presence of mind to know that was still a live ball on the blocked field goal was very impressive.

yeah that was heady play L.A. us old guys in the stands were screaming that the ball was still alive.....experience paid off as the kid from ED knew what was happening.....our freshman holder on the play (who had a terrific game otherwise) thought the play was dead...........big momentum shift.....still think Reidsville should have went for the TD instead of FG..........
That is the key for sure good Defense when you only run the ball. congrats to all the winner's looking for a great 2023 football again next year.
@DogBone22 Furthermore ya'll ran on those Triad teams. You WILL NOT line up and just run on a team from 704 area code and win...EVER. EVERRR. You can book that too.
