Was a helluva game between CG and Rolesville the first time. Both teams are playing lights out. What happened then won’t matter next week. Look at Jacksonville and Havelock for example. First matchup, Havelock won 21-14, second matchup, Jacksonville won 56-28. Should be two good games in the East-West next week. They got beat by Rolesville! Who we beat. They will have to play Rolesville again!
Thought this was pretty cool it was also their 23rd state championshipOn a side note Dutch Fork is going for another 5A State Championship game against Summerville. Ring up another for Tom Knotts
Only offer is from WSSU. He 5’6” and 150. But he is a bad mamma jamma.Where is the back from Grimsley going
I believe he has an offer from Catawba as well but he should have more.Only offer is from WSSU. He 5’6” and 150. But he is a bad mamma jamma.
Not denying that, but that doesn’t change the fact that Hough is playing not to lose right now. They have had multiple long sustained drives down the field and have only been able to cash in one so far. Outside of 2 long td runs by summers, grimsley hasn’t had a long drive. However I do understand that is grimsley’s style. They thrive on explosive plays. If Hough can come out and limit the explosive runs, they’re back in this. That’s a tall task though. On offense theyre running the ball pretty effectively, but they need to get Evans going early out of halftime if they want any chance to win this. Grimsley has done a good job bracketing Evans though.
Makes sense. The former EF quarterback Danny Obrien coaches QB's at Penn St. Huge steal.I believe James Franklin (Penn State) is getting ready to open up the vault for EF, Baker, the steal from the Heels
Not sure how good the football is in Tennessee but most of us here never thought the football in the Volunteer state was that much better. Maybe I need to verse myself on Alcoa and the like. I'm surprised if that's the narrative.I lived in Tennessee for years and I would love to see alcoa play grimsley, weddington, or rolesville. Despite popular belief the football in North Carolina is just as good as Tennessee!
Not at all.Weddington is the football version of Hoosiers.
Penn State also doesn’t do a great job developing Quarterbacks. I hope he doesn’t go there because I don’t think he’ll reach his full potential.Conservative maybe but you're usually winning when you're playing not to lose the lead. I don't see that. I've seen teams take

It was on youtube last nightI like to see this game on YouTube if it comes out. Sounded like that Summers player is the real deal
I would say it’s better because there is more depth of good teams in NC. Alcoa only has 677 kids so they would have a harder time with those schools you mentioned.I lived in Tennessee for years and I would love to see alcoa play grimsley, weddington, or rolesville. NC only trails Fl, Ga, Tx, and Ca in my opinion.I would say it’s better because there is more depth of good teams in NC. Alcoa only has 677 kids so they would have a harder time with those schools you mentioned.
Lol 100% strongly disagree. NC football is miles ahead of tennI lived in Tennessee for years and I would love to see alcoa play grimsley, weddington, or rolesville. Despite popular belief the football in North Carolina is just as good as Tennessee!

He hits like a 180 pound back. He has no fear whatsoever!!!!Only offer is from WSSU. He 5’6” and 150. But he is a bad mamma jamma.
No no, it was a choke. Don’t start walking back on all that Hough glazing on the boards and in the media that has been going on ALL SEASON lol. They didn’t choke, they got beat by the better team for the 3rd time in a row
You can call it whatever you want. Hough had zero deep protection all night and got scorched a dozen times. Their entire defense was about 8 yards from the line of scrimage.the entire night. They made NO adjustments on defense, zero! That's not choking it's just getting beat with a bad game plan.No no, it was a choke. Everywhere you turned… Hough glazing. 💀 this was a choke job, don’t undersell it
I wouldn’t say that this day and age. If you look at recruiting rankings from ON3 and 247 TN has had more kids recently ranked. A lot has changed with the number of people moving to TN. With the population differences there is depth of teams in NCLol 100% strongly disagree. NC football is miles ahead of tenn
Don’t insult the Bills. The made it to the championship game 4 times.Hough chokes again with maybe their easiest path to a championship. They are the 90s Buffalo Bill's of HS
They didn’t choke, Grimsley just has their number and out coached them. Good thing for Hough is they’ll be 8A and Grimsley will be 7A going forward so they’ll be able to avoid them and Weddington.

People are saying Hough choke this, Hough choke that. Because they have been over reaching/portaling really since the school opened in 2010, way before Grimsley started doing it in 2019... People will remember kids "committing to Hough" on Twitter years ago. They have just tried to create all star teams in the offseason and come up short every year, that's "choking"You can call it whatever you want. Hough had zero deep protection all night and got scorched a dozen times. Their entire defense was about 8 yards from the line of scrimage.the entire night. They made NO adjustments on defense, zero! The current Butler staff will definitely try to use the portal. They might have to expand their search outside of just trying to poach kids from Chambers though.Like Butler last year, Hough blew their best chance at a title. They probably won’t have a better team for a couple years. Unlike Butler though, they’ll probably look into the portal to reload for next year.
Where do you sit or stand at Grimsley?I’m over here in Greensboro watching Grimsley celebrate just like I said.
You seem like a high school football history buff, Mister Vik Vak, so here's a tidbit of information of the Guilford " city " schools. Grimsley was Greensboro Senior High School until 1962, when they decided to change the name. The brass at GHS wanted to change it to somebody's name that started with a G so they wouldn't have to change all the stuff with G on it, such as the basketball jump circle with a big blue G in the middle. George Grimsley was the superintendent of the Greensboro City Schools in 1899, the year Greensboro Senior High was occupied with students, so they named the school after him . For years, even after the school was named Grimsley, the basketball team's jerseys said SENIOR on the front, thoroughly upsetting the residents of red and white ( Page ). Around the late fifties, the powers to be decided Grimsley was becoming too populated, so they built Page in nineteen and fiddy eight...If you look at this scenario, Page's students were once Grimsley's students. Thus, the heated rivalry betwix the two institutions. Smith was built in 1963, and it included central air conditioning, the first school in Greensboro to have this accessory. The gym at Smith is named for Bob McAdoo , one of Smith's famous alums. Smith is named for Mister Ben L. Smith who was superintendent wayyyy back yonder...Dudley High School was bulit in 1929 and was named for James B. Dudley, who was the President of North Carolina A & T from the late 1800's until his dealth in 1925. He attended Harvard and was actually born in Wilmington until he found Greensboro to be more groovy than getting all that damn sand in one's footwear. Many Dudley students stay connected all their lives and their support and the traditions at Dudley High School run deep. The four " city " schools were all in the same conference from the 1960's until just a few years ago when Smith and Dudley were moved to 3-A. In the late 60s, Grimsley, Smith, Page, Dudley, High Point Central, and Burlington Williams were in the same conference for quite a few years..I have a question. Since Grimsley is close to Dudley how come they don’t play each other. Didn’t realize they were close to each other until now.

To piggy-back off what GSO-Triple5 said. Greensboro Senior High was of course the only high school in Greensboro until Dudley was built in 1929 as the first black high school in Guilford County during segregated times. Which is why when Grimsley wears the jerseys with "Greensboro" or "Greensboro Senior" like they have over the past 15-20 years, its a slap in the face to Dudley, which is possibly one of the many reasons why they aren't on each others schedule. As he stated, Page was built in 1958, and the two schools are a few miles away from each other down Cornwallis Drive. Page's student body mostly consisted of former Grimsley students, but some of Dudley's students also ended up at Page, and some neighborhoods from both schools were split in two to go to Page, which is why Page has such strong rivalries with both schools. Page ended up having early success against both schools in Football, and didn't look back, which fueled the rivalries for many years to come and has turned them into what they are today. Thanks, That some good information.

yep...came back to see it happen..Hough is Hough....theyre gonna choke one way or another@704CougarsDad Came and called it SMH! I knew better than to actually pick Hough.
lol even a broken clock that's in a dog's behind is right twice a day. Those 2019 Vance or Mallard Creek teams would destroy all these teams left in the playoffs.Where’s this clown 704DAD at? I’ve never left my perch. My All-Triad Final didn’t happen but I feel good about who’s going to win 4-A.
Dumb narrative....? 2 weeks ago you all said it was in the bag. Just like the last 4 years. Every year they have ran through the state and we're favored except maybe against chambers and every year they choke.Dumb narrative, Hough is the 2nd best team in the State
