Don't change the subject now. Nobody said they didn't. The game was already over. The clock went to 0 and the ref bailed you guys out with a tech. Should've been a delay of game warning at the most. High school kids thought the game was over and they were going to WF. Just kids happy and celebrating. But we'll be back again

I kind of agree with you there, dude, on the technical , but there were 1.5 seconds remaining when the technical was called. I totally understand the excitement, and what a time for a tech, but you can't storm the court with time remaining....One of the craziest games ever.

Im confused gents give us a run down of what happened?

Am I reading into Crest fans thought they won, stormed floor got a tech and Smith hits the free throw to win?
Crest was up 2. Smith had the ball for last possession. Smith missed the shot and Crest got the rebound. Player was fouled with 1 second left and apparently team thought that TO was called so the bench (including coaches) came onto the floor during the dead ball. They thought they had won the game. Instead of calling a delay of game warning on the bench the ref called a tech. They got 2 ft and the ball and tied it up.

Correct call can't come of the bench at any time with time on the clock. This is not a delay of game warning offense. automatic tech for entering the court without being called onto the court. This is just like having 6 players on the court with time on the clock.

It was a dead ball and they thought it was a TO. They didn't run on the court during play. I don't believe a ref should decide the game with 1 second on the clock. But that's fine, not arguing about it anymore.

Tough call.

Having Deja Vu! …over here in Maiden.

That’s exactly what Maiden did to lose the conference tournament final against Lincolnton.

Congrats to Crest on a great season. 😉

I agree 100 percent with you on that call. You get the players back to the bench and give a warning. I understand the rule but that was a different situation.

I hate it happened. The person I feel for most is the official. Either he makes the call and is criticized for it(which is what is happening) or he is viewed as an official that picks and chooses what rules he will enforce. Ultimately and sadly the fault lies with the coaches who lead their team on the floor.
