In the upcoming Greater Metro Ladies Championship, Lake Norman plays Hickory Ridge for the 3rd time this year. Previously LN won by 33 and 26 points.
Wonder what the chances are that this turns into a championship type game?
My guess is not a lot, based on one and only one observation.
Lake Norman is a much better team now than they were because the second 5 which is not really a "2nd" five but rather a next "5" who are just not starting. These 5 both individually and as a group give Lake Norman the ability to go flat out the entire game with no fall back in quality of play.

Albemarle beat union academy in a close good game tonight. i think union academy will make some noise in playoffs. If they played # 50 more than #20 i think they could have won. #11 for albemarle owned #20.

This was not typical of LN girls tonight. It’s almost like they couldn’t buy an outside shot. I think they had one 3 point shot. I could be wrong on that. And HR hit 6 or 7 three’s. LN had most their shots inside. That was difference I believe.

I was at the Watauga/ South Caldwell game and Kate Sears flat showed out. She played one of the best games I can remember for a girl in a long time, on both ends of the court. With Watauga leading at the end, she finished two possessions in a row with beautiful passes for layups-the first was a nice no look and then she followed that with a flawless behind the back. If she plays like that the Lady Pioneers will be hard to beat.

Could have been a bad game as SWR beat Uwharrie earlier in the season by 14 & 25. I know nothing about them other than looking up those scores. Did see SWR as #3 in RPI behind North Wilkes and East Burke. Max preps has them as #2 in 2A west.

I would say outside of the Foothills and the Catawba Valley Conferences, they’re probably the 3rd best 2A conf in the west.
