Freedom alumnus Lindsay Adams is the head coach for Davie. She was a starter on our 2016 state championship team and got the Davie job right out of college, I think she's in her fifth season there. She's got them on the verge of a conference championship and done a great job as their coach and she's not even 30. I think she's a real "up and comer" among girls' coaches statewide.

A concern for Lake Norman in the post season is: will they be ready and tested for tough competition?
Lake Norman is so extremely talented and 10 players deep. They play so fast and hard. BUT one thing I have noticed the last couple of games is this:

The pressure on the other team, their mindset is so focused on running, that when they take the foot off the gas, their 3 point shooting (which has been absolutely deadly in the past) seems to be off.

In most of the games that is not a problem but as it comes playoff season and the competition level goes way way up, will their distance shooting touch return? Will it be on target?

They will definitely be in shape to out hustle, out run anybody else. But the outside shooting touch will have to be present, front and center.
On February 13 they host Bishop McGuiness. Maybe this game will help answer the question.

Bishop has a solid team, but after watching both teams play, I don’t foresee LKN having much trouble with Bishop this year.
It’s good to see competitive teams play each other non conf whether they’re 1A, 2A, 3A or 4A.

Cant see Bishop within 20 of LKN. They will hang tough for the first quarter or so and then depth and height advantage will become apparent. Just a good experience for Bishop and good for RPI. Same as Bishop vs. WSCN

I wouldn't worry...your fifteen fans should have enough seats lol nah I only care bc Cherokee just played them two weeks ago so id like to see how y'all do. Good news is Bishop won't lose a home game this year like last year when y'all host Cherokee it will be at wake forest.

15 fans??? What an asinine comment.

Union won first time they played few weeks ago union missed like 30 free throws last night it was rediculous

I watched the first quarter. Albemarle’s defensive pressure was much better.
UA acted like they had no clue what to do with the pressure and missed I believe around 12 free throws in the first quarter.

Free throw shooting didn't get any better. 2nd qtr they missed just as many...I stopped watching after half.

I’ve now seen most of the top 1A teams with the exception of Mtn Heritage. It’s going to take a really off night for Cherokee not to win it. They’re deep, quick, play great defense and can shoot.
Bishop has the best shot against Cherokee, IMO.
Albemarle struggles against teams that are fundamentally sound and put defensive pressure on them.
UA’s record is a little deceiving. Only 2 of their 16 wins have been against teams with winning records.
Mtn Heritage lost quite a few from last years team but they seem to be doing well and Shelton always has her teams ready come playoff time.
Polk has a good record but I don’t seem them on the same playing field as the teams mentioned above.

South Caldwell upset Watauga last night in double overtime 93-91. For those who don't know the Anderson girl from SC is a baller and only a freshman. She had 36 points against the Pioneers, and you have to think they had Kate Sears on her at least part of the time. She gets 23 a game and could be a real force for the Lady Spartans for years to come.

I see that North Meck girls are 17-2 and Mallard Creek is 17-3. They both have a win against each other. 2 really good teams. Lake Norman did beat Mallard Creek earlier in the season but not to say LN could potentially lose to either team of North Meck or Mallard Creek. Top 4A teams are really tough.
