Franklin suffered a vary rare down years in the fall of 2019. What will they bring to the table this year? What do you expect from this matchup in week #2? Murphy lost a few important pieces very various reasons but still has overall speed that they haven't had in a while. The lines should be solid but not as much depth as anticipated. Can the Dogs continue the reversal of their fortunes against the Panthers? I think "yes", but love to hear others' thoughts.

I can't tell you specifically what we have, but we have been super young on both sides of the ball for a couple years now. We've had some talent in the JVs the last couple years but I don't know how that will translate to varsity success. One thing that probably didn't work out to well for us the past couple years is that we had to combine JV and varsity practice due to low numbers of coaches, but that time practicing together probably paid off some for the youngns coming up.

Franklin young and low numbers. Lost a couple of key kids either by injury or other reasons. When basketball ends that should help. I’ve seen Josh work magic. We shall see what his crystal ball has for us.

Franklin beat Hayesville 28-7 tonight. Don’t know anything about the Yellow Jackets but it’s a quick turnaround for the Murphy game. Gonna be tough for the Panthers.

Sound a lot like Murphy in that respect, Murphy pretty young and not the best turnout. Murphy also lost 4 starters before the first regular season snap of a ball, two to legal issues last fall and then two more last week quit. Two of the four are pretty major losses, one of them was easily the best defensive player on the team and the other was the starting RB.

Franklin played real well on defense last night. Coughed up the ball a couple times. Didn't have to make long drives much. Didn't have to throw the ball much, but were mostly successful when they did. First 14 points were because of a nervous Hayesville snapper.

Not sure the difference in competition that we are talking about between Hayesville and Murphy, since it seems like Murphy is always down their best three players but somehow manages to be a stellar team.

Been a frustrating last couple seasons for sure, this season has been the worst one yet in that regard though, hard to lose two impact players and not feel it. Murphy is paper thin in a lot of places.

Kids just arent as invested as they use to be, shocking to me to see Franklin's turnout knowing the kind of #'s Coach Brooks use to get out not that long ago but it's a sign of the times I guess, most programs are struggling with turnout these days.
