Panthers coming off a tough win over a game Swain team while the Warriors have had back to back losses to TN teams. Erwin will give Franklin some fits with the passing game so ball control may be the name of the game for the Panthers....thoughts?

Will be interested to see how this one goes. I think Franklin has more speed on the outside than a team like mountain heritage so I don't see it being a blow out. I could be wrong though. I'm sure Franklin will try to play ball control and keep Ferguson on the sideline.
I think Erwin will hurt us offensively with their passing attack. Keys will be the battle of both lines. If we can win those battles & limit turnovers we will be right there. Besides Asheville this is our biggest test.
It should be a really good game. Erwin will not be shocked too see anything after the last two opponents. I think the Warriors will pull it out in a close one.

Nice read BD, hope it's a close healthy game for both sides. How do you guys look stopping the run this year?
At times good, but we have gave up some big yards to teams with really good backs. The back from Mt Paran was unreal. The qb from Science Hill was like Dowdle from Reynolds. I guess our biggest weakness would be our run defense, but it is hard to tell because of the type teams we have played.
We have probably have more speed than we usually do & 31 is pretty quick but, I expect you guys will hurt us some thru the air. If you guys can run on us it could get ugly. We have to be able to run & control the clock. I'm a bit concerned about our passing attack as it has seemed to regress since the Asheville game. Have no idea how this one will turn out though.
It all depends. We ran all over Mtn Heritage and did well against Mt Paran. The two Tenn teams shut down the run. Is your defense really good?
Battle went over 100 on us but I think even the Asheville posters would tell you he had to earn them. #30 is a tackling machine. Just not sure how it will all turn out.

FYI - Franklin JV beat Erwin 28-14 last night. Early 4th quarter Franklin was threatening to go up 35 -0 but fumbled inside Erwin 20. Erwin scored quick. Another Franklin fumble lead to an Erwin score as well. But time ran out on the Warriors. Franklin remains undefeated with big wins over Asheville, Erwin and Rabun County, GA
I am not sure why Erwin or Asheville are always bad on jv. A lot of the kids are moved up but I wish they cared more.

Wasn't able to keep up with much of the game but from what I heard & read it was a great ball game. Congrats to Erwin.....kids could have folded up when Franlklin took the lead but they fought right back. I hope 31 is ok and I'm sure it hurt not having him in the half. Paper said he had 173 before he went out. Everyone talked about Erwin's schedule but, props to Coach Brooks for raising the bar on Franklin's ooc schedule. Will help us come playoff time. On to Brevard!
