While it is true ED had a TD called back due to holding, they scored two or three plays later on the same drive so I don't see how that any bearing on the game one way or another.
The game turned after ED went up 14-0 just before the half but on the ensuing kickoff, Goldsboro took it to the house to cut the lead to 14-7 at the half.
After seeing both ED and Goldsboro this season, I thought this game might be close. ED will have trouble with teams that can mix their offense and spread them out. ED does not have the athletes on defense they have had the last 2-3 seasons and as a result, will find it a big challenge to limit big plays especially in the passing game. ED is also limited on offense. I have not seen a running back with breakaway speed and the passing game is suspect at best. The special teams are also not as good as recent years. Not to say ED isn't good because they are, they just have a much smaller margin for error than the last few seasons. They are very fundamentally sound and are coached very well.
Goldsboro should have beaten JK. They fumbled twice inside the five yard line. Then after taking the lead with 2:00 left, attempted some sort of onside/squib kick that gave JK the ball around midfield. Their defensive line is huge and they tackle very well. On offense, they can mix it up and have playmakers. QB throws a good ball. One thing to keep an eye on for next week is the heath of #12 as it looked like he was injured towards the end of the game and didn't return. I think they will give Clinton a good game but a lot of that depends on #12 to
