ECC Week 5

JK @ Union - Looks like Union handled the only common opponent we had in Pender a little bit better than we did. That was also the first game of the season and in the rain. JK has played a tougher schedule and finally can get a full week of practice and take time to rest. JK 31 Union 12

Midway @ Hobbton - Midway ends Hobbtons hot start to the season. Midway 33 Hobbton 28

Clinton vs. Pamlico - Clinton continues to roll. Clinton 35 Pamlico 18

ED @ Warren County - Clueless about WC but ED will bounce back from a tough loss to SWO. ED by 30

Goldsboro @ Westover - Goldsboro by 21 plus

WRH vs. Northside - both teams coming off of tough losses. Speed and talent all over the field. Look for the Dogs to take care of business back inside the friendly confines of the Pound. WRH 34 NSJ 26

Comments and thoughts on some of the ECC games, the hard hitters.

Pamlico blows into Dark Horse stadium more like a cool breeze off the sound, not Hurricanes by any means. Clinton takes the wind out of em in the first half, early no doubt.

ED @ Warren County -- WC @ 0-4, cant score and cant stop anyone else. ED made a lot of mistakes, fumbles, int. and flags. Even if they do it again they will prevail.

Northside @ WRH -- This is NS Jacksonville NOT NS Pinetown. The Monarchs played New Hanover tough in their only loss. I would give this one even money. I like to root for ECC teams but also Jacksonville teams. If I was at the game I think I would sit on the NS side.

Don’t know much about Hobbton except this is the first time in like 10 years they have started 3-0. They also have played cupcakes

They’re a decent team. QB is a real athlete. 5 or 6 TDs by him alone in the first game.

If your team is on a bye or playing a cupcake and you’re looking for somewhere to be Friday night... head to Newton Grove. Hobbton v Midway is one of eastern NC’s more underrated rivalries. No love lost between these two undefeated Sampson County teams. Should be a very big but civil crowd. Toss up game, even though it’s been years since Hobbton won.
