Thats what i would like to know Wilkes Central. I know its early, but Starmount and East Wilkes will be predicted the top 2 in conference. What will be the outcome Elkin, Alleghany, West Wilkes, North Wilkes, Wilkes Central, Ashe County, Elkin? Will Wilkes Central be any good this season? That matchup vs EW at end of year could be for 2nd in conference

Ashe does have an exiting air raid offense but that's balanced out by them not having a defense. Conference is definitely Starmounts to lose..does East have alot returning?
So in your opinion it's 1. Starmount who is 2nd and 3rd?WC's a year away from being truly competive imo. In 2026 and 27 they will be a solid foe for Starmount. They had a really good Freshman group last year, sophomore and junior classes aren't that great so they had to rely on the Freshman more on both levels. It's why their varsity was rough last year. They had more athletes up top but the line was bad. The freshman group they had were very physical and ran that option extremely well on JV. If they keep the old man as HC and stay in that offense they will be very hard to stop unless your big and athletic. Starmount can do that. Everyone else probably not. They beat North and West Wilkes in shutouts last year. I don't think they will be deep playoffs good unless they find some consistency, they let two games they shoulda won slip late on JV last year.
West will be improved but they are reliant on their backs too much, if one or both of their two main backs get hurt they will be lost. If they face a good team defense they'd have challenges. Not that big either.
Ashe'll be better because the level of competition's down from those Northwestern teams but their JV team was pretty bad last year. They called it one of the worst freshman groups they have ever seen. They'll start off hot this year and maybe next then it'll be a drop near the end of the 4 years, it depends on how good this year's freshman will be. If their #'s increase that'll be a help too, I think with more local teams they are playing it will help.
8/22 @ WataugaThis is what I found for Ashe.
8/22 - ?
8/29 - ?
9/5 @ Alexander Central
9/12 - Johnson County (TN)
9/19 - Alleghany
9/26 - @ Elkin
10/3 - North Wilkes
10/10 - @ Wilkes Central
10/17 - East Wilkes
10/24 - West Wilkes
10/31 - @ Starmount
EW graduated several good kids, qb for one. But their backfield and majority of the lines will all be returning along with the kids moving up from the 1 loss JV team from a year ago.Ashe does have an exiting air raid offense but that's balanced out by them not having a defense. Conference is definitely Starmounts to lose..does East have alot returning?
