According to records kept by Carolina Preps, East Lincoln has won 7 of the last 8 games since 2012.

2012 EL 13 L 8

2013 EL 28 L 9

2014 EL 49 L 27 and EL 35 L 14

2015 EL 40 L 21

2016 EL 35 L 42 (A former EL player had 20 pass receptions and the winning touchdown.)

2017 EL 12 L 7

2018 EL 27 L 6

This game used to be the most watched in Lincoln County, but last night the Lincolnton stands were half full at best, while the East side was fairly packed and people standing around the fence line/track. I remember when everyone showed up for this game no matter what the others record was. The Wolves owned the Mustangs in the late 80's and 90's but their seems to have been a shift in the last 14 years. East holds an 11-6 advantage over that time period.

What does everyone think?

Same thing I stated on the other site. Yes it is a rivalry and to think otherwise is premature. We have always had kids play at Boger City that end up going to different schools and some eventually come back to Lincolnton ( Randelman, McClain, Thompson) just to name a few. I will be very honest about what the problem is at Lincolnton. Our coaching is not good and we have no identity. Kids used to chomp at the bit at the opportunity to put on the black and gold and recently we have lost our pride. Coaches are not fully invested in the program overall and the kids see that. Trust me, us and East are and always will be rivals especially with the older generation. It may not mean as much to kids now because a lot of east people are not from here and didn't grow up here so there isn't as much as a connection and kids don't grow up playing against each other.

Always will be a rival. More intensity than NL and EL but only reason that is a real rival is cause NL is a pinch off school of East. Like Draughn to East Burke

Rivalries always have ups and downs. Lincolnton will not be down long I can promise you that.

There was a period from 1994 till the 2009 playoffs that Thomasville beat their biggest rival Lexington 16 straight years until they beat us in the playoffs in 2009...we currently have won 6 of the last 8 games in the rivalry....Thomasville/Lexington will always be each teams biggest rival game
