Washington is enrolled at East Gaston, as of week ago Friday he had not been cleared to start practicing.
We looked fair in our first scrimmage, but much better in our second. We look good on offense, with good size up front. Defense and depth will likely be an issue, as usual. Overall the team looks solid and could surprise some people. Numbers continue to be down, we'll probably dress about 30 on varsity.

Is the new guy supposed to be good? Hopefully you guys can get your numbers up in the next few years and produce some good teams. Good luck on the year, i look forward to watching them a time or two this year.
The new guy is supposed to be good... real good. I hope we get him on the field. It would truly be a shame if he didn't play his senior season of high school ball. He has over 5,700 yards through his junior year against weak competition.
I continue to worry about the defensive side of the ball and lots of guys going both ways. With or without Washington, we'll be ok. I expect our best season since 2006.

Washington is a very good HS back and would be a positive addition to EG. Seems like the longer this drags on the worse it looks for him playing this year.
I believe I remember that 2006 season. Didn't y'all lose the first game to EL then go on a huge winning streak? I hope the new kid gets to play, it would be a shame to be blessed with that much talent and not be able to use because you had to transfer. Are there any highlights for him on The Internet?
I hope he plays. I've been hearing about him since he was an 8th grader and would like to see him against 3A competition.
This is what I know and it was from a source as close to the situation as it gets....he is enrolled at East Gaston. His being cleared to play football is in the hands of the county AD and superintendent. This was about 2 weeks ago.
