East Forsyth vs West Forsyth Rematch 3rd Rd.

We all thought that these two teams were going to see each other again after a 24-21 game in early September. Both teams have taken out the 2nd tier of Charlotte Meck Football going 4-0 in playoffs. The winner of this game will take on a tier 1 Hough or Mallard Creek and we will see what happens this year.

I heard everything checked out at the hospital concerning Darion Slade's hand which got hurt in the 3rd quarter after his 2TD performance. Let's hope he plays... West needs him, must have him vs the steam rolling East Eagles. West Defense stifled Myers Parks for only 63yds
 
Not sure this is accurate but did see on social media that Slade will get an MRI on Monday. I'm thinking he may not play. That's a killer, but you never know... Coach Snow & him may be playing possum. I guarantee he wants to play even with one arm. I hope the West fans have not seen him play his last game.
 
wow what a big game in Forsyth county. This is only gonna act like gasoline on a fire for this rivalry. Wish so much I could go to this one! Hope slade plays. Proud also that West is still carrying our CPC flag!
 
You can bet that Slade will play and you can bet that East Forsyth will prepare as if he's playing. This is a huge game for Forsyth County. It's tough being in the 4AA playoffs for a couple of the Guilford and Forsyth County teams and I'm sure some Charlotte schools feel it as well. Whenever Charlotte schools travel up to Guilford or Forsyth early in the playoffs the gates are horrible. Same can be said when Guilford and Forsyth travel South to Charlotte early in the playoffs. East will be sold out next week! It would be really great if they could play this game at Wake Forest. Thanksgiving Black Friday at BB&T Field might bring in 15,000 fans. Congrats to both teams and good luck

East Forsyth will be sold out. I think the game will have somewhere between 6-8 thousand people. I don't think East Forsyth can hold much more than that.

I hope you are correct, but I don't think it will be. Too many other conflicts.

I LOVE the idea of being at Wake Forest or even Bowman Gray....

but if it was North Davidson and they earned the home game, no way would I want to give it up.

There is NO way East is not going to move the game. It would just be cool to see if there was enough fan interest.
 
East Wouldn't move the game, historically speaking the last few years the home team has always won.

When these two met earlier in the season, that game was sold out and had people standing on the tracks that surround the endzones, not to mention that game was in the rain and delayed an hour and a half so many people left.

Plus you have to factor in all the other people that are going, I know a lot of Reagan, Mount Tabor, Glenn kids and families going as well.

The stadium at east isn't small, just a lot of people to account for.

I won't even get started on the parking issue, all I will say is if you get there at 7 you will be parking half a mile to the stadium and you will sit in the parking lot for an hour after the game in traffic.

I'd love to see them play at Wake Forest since East Forsyth is using their practice facility's and I'm pretty sure west is too.

East in this one. They're playing at a higher level right now. On the other hand, it's always tough beating the same team twice in a season.

This may be the first real test for East in these playoffs. After playing two Charlotte teams, that fans in Charlotte were saying all season were way down this year, they'll need a test before Hough/Mallard Creek.
 
The gate revenue for this game helps all of the Forsyth Schools. Lots of people in town for Thanksgiving. Tons of former players to attend. Slade says on Twitter to WR Lindsay "I'm good bro" not sure I know what that means.
 
Going with East Forsyth in a close one early, because I saw on here that Slade may need an MRI I am predicting this as if he is playing. However, without him my prediction does change. I expect a huge crowd up at EF for this one.

I'm going to say 2 factors in this one:
1.Who has the least turnovers
2. How East defense plays
 
Psychology plays as big a part in these games as the x and os. East really, really needs a tough game here. They haven't been tested in the playoffs. If/when they get by West, they'll meet the Hough/Mallard Creek winner. They will be tested there. When Page won it all in 2011, they were tested mightily by Butler and Mallard Creek. At that time, Mallard Creek wasn't playing tough opponents yet. They weren't mentally prepared. When Page came from behind to take the lead, their lack of mental toughness showed. So, East really needs a tough game here.
 
I hate that Richmond-Page is this Friday. Been wanting to see this rematch ever since that last second ticked off.

Me too Chute Boxe Hero.......I live about 5 miles from Page HS and I lived in Kernersville for about 25 years. I think both games will be great to watch. I kinda wish one on Friday and other on Saturday. OH Well.....probably flip coin for those two games. I have a feeling Dudley will take care of South Caldwell. No fish fry for me this coming Friday but next week HMMMMM. Parking would be a headache at EF and getting out of the parking lot after the game is going to be FUN. Page game on other hand would be easier to access parking and getting out would be better.
 
I dont know if I totally agree with this statement. Would it be great if they had a tough game? Yes! I just don't think having a tough game against West is going to set EF up to be in better shape taking on MC or Hough. East had a couple battles earlier in the year against Page, West, and Reagan. So I do know this team knows how to deal with adversity and overcome turnovers, not playing well etc. to come back and win. I think EF would be better off if they were to somehow blow out West and go into the MC or Hough game with a ton of confidence. It may sound crazy but if East is going to win it all they're going to have to believe they can play with and beat a MC mentally. I've seen alot of teams beat by MC and Butler before the coin toss. I also want to state that in this time of the year there is no place for mistakes or turnovers. If you make mistakes against teams like MC or Hough or even West Forsyth you're done. Also, that 2011 Page team was a different animal all together. I think we all get caught up comparing every team and playoff run from anyone outside of charlotte to them because it was so special and it had never been done like that before. I've said multiple times even if East blows out West they're still at least a 14 point underdog to whoever in the next round. I also think that whoever plays EF will have a game on their hands and if they leave their A game at home EF is good enough to beat them. All that being said they have to be focused and ready to take on West. I do think East is the more talented team and if they play like they have played the last few weeks they should win by a couple scores.
 
After an MRI of Darion Slades hand, many "tweets" from West Forsyth players seem to be confirming that he is not playing this week.

Well, QB Jayshaun McMillion will have to step up... He's has taken nearly half the QB reps this year when they moved Slade to 4 different positions.

Hate it so much for slade. Great kid and talent. Very big challenge for West now. But they won't go off quietly.

West losing its top weapon will be hard to make up for; huge loss...but they have other weapons like UNC recruit RB Marcus Caldwell, big WR Shiem Lindsay, speedster WR Darriel Brown along with QB McMillion. Look for a new wrinkle by coach Snow on offense as the talented freakish KJ Henry will play offense. He may play every snap.

The defense has to step up big time... Baer Hunter(Toledo), KJ Henry(UNC), Tyki Lawson Oates, and that wicked freshman DB who has about 15 INT's he's the QB's Brother "McMillion Jr."
 
That's one thing that concerns me. EF is getting quite a few lucky breaks this post season. The draw and now Slade. Sometimes it's best to be lucky. But, we'll see.

I said what I did About EF needing a tough game because they haven't had one in the playoffs yet. EF fans feel this could be their year. They (a) made it past the 2nd round and (b) beat two Charlotte teams. Their confidence is up.

Here is why I said what I did about them needing a tough game. Though they've played two Charlotte teams, those teams were having a down year and not a part of Charlotte's upper tier. Many have compared EF's score against Indy as Butler's score against Indy. It's usually problematic comparing scores. So to some EF should compare favorably to Hough or Mallard Creek.

So what happens if EF plays a Hough or Mallard Creek and are punched in the mouth for a couple of scores, considering they beat a couple of Charlotte teams, then realize, this team is different? How will they react? It's one thing playing Olympic, Indy or even West and another playing Hough or especially Mallard Creek.

Time will tell.

EF was behind in the 4th Quarter 3 times this year. All 3 times they got the scores and defensive stops when they needed it. They've proven that they can buckle down in crunch time and get the job done. If someone beats them, it's just because they're better, not because EF couldn't take a team's best shot or got rattled. They're playing their best ball of the season right now so anyone who gets a win in K-ville will have to earn it, no giving it away like last year.

Agreed. And until they do and show they can play with them there will be doubters. Just letting you know they've shown the ability to respond in tight games previously. Hopefully we'll all find out next week.
 
I'm hoping for a Mallard Creek/East game. I think it'll be a great game.
 
My God its getting really old seeing every post by Charlotte fans about East Forsyth and how bad they are because they haven't play MC Butler or Hough. WHO CARES!!!! I see articles in the Charlotte observer of HC's complaining about having to play a hard 2nd rd game and everyone on every message board complaining....Its getting old people! YES, everyone in the entire STATE knows EF hasn't played MC or Butler (how could anyone forget anytime anyone says anything positive someone brings it up...If it was a drinking game everyone would have been sh*t faced 10 times by now). EF has played everyone on their schedule and won every game and the teams they have played they have blown out (like a true #1 should do). The only people who keep bringing EF up are Charlotte fans. My question is WHY? If East Forsyth sucks so much who cares Mallard Creek or Hough will beat the crap out of them next week then every Charlotte fan can celebrate and say "See we told you y'all suck" "Or you're not better than 10 of our teams in Meck County they can all beat you"! In the end just give it a break people. If they win tomorrow next week MC will kill them then you guys can start popping the bottles and move on with your life.

East is an 18pt SIMMONS favorite, I think West Forsyth feels disrespected...especially the defense. I do see East by a TD. West has to play a near perfect game and Coach Snow needs to be Riverboat Snow "Not Conservative Snow" Need Riverboat Snow like the Reagan game, his play calling was excellellent he went for a bunch of 4th downs & trick plays in the best game he's ever coached.

You have got to stop. It's not people from Charlotte! We only talk about the next game. No one from Charlotte is talking about EF. It's just you. It's a sad attempt to get people to talk about them. Stop trying to stir the pot. If EF takes care of business, they will get the team they've been asking for.
 
People starting to say slade is dressing out tonignt.

East practiced all week as if he was playing tonight.

Can't know for sure till the West bus pulls up in about an hour and a half.


Anything can happen.
