Better work on that pass defense. Not really sure about some of the competition Randleman has played but very impressive win tonight over Nash Central. Jacksonville, Southwest Onslow, and Wallace-Rose Hill are all teams ED defeated this season and all three are playing next week.predictions or thoughts on this game?
Dont mis-interpret what I wrote about their pass defense. I simply said I think it is an area they need to shore up. After looking at the schedule Randleman has played it could be argued that helped in getting those stats. According to Simmons, entering last night Randleman's strength of schedule was 80 compared to EDs 21. No one Randleman played this year is still playing while there are three ED defeated playing next week (Jacksonville, WRH, and SWO).I like what you just said about there pass defense I hope it’s true because we got one of the states best quarterbacks he has throwed fir over 2000 yards and ran for around 1000 yards and a sophomore running back with over 1000 yards and our defense is playing great. Hope it’s a great game.
i agree. our pass defense needs some work. to our credit though we usually defend the pass much better after we settle in.Better work on that pass defense. ED ran the ball extremely well tonight. Havent seen the official stats but I would guess they had over 500 yards rushing.
Again their Achilles seems to be the pass defense. Teams that have good balance will give them trouble. Not saying they wont or cant win, just saying I would be concerned about that phase of the game. WS did nothing on the ground.
Should be a good game.
our pass defense is definitely subject to give up the big play, especially early on. but we usually settle in after a drive or two. our coaches make adjustments and our D Line starts utilizing our relentless pass rush! also our secondary starts making better plays on the ball. that being said any team that passes well such as Randleman gives me great concern. the main thing that works in our favor though is that we usually shut down our opponents running game, so how will a team such as Randleman pass when thats basically all they can do? you said your QB likes to run the ball. well we will definitely have him on the run lol. i really think this will be a good game. you guys seem to have a very good team. hopefully we can get the victory!I like what you just said about there pass defense I hope it’s true because we got one of the states best quarterbacks he has throwed fir over 2000 yards and ran for around 1000 yards and a sophomore running back with over 1000 yards and our defense is playing great. Havent seen where anyone said they are unbeatable. Took a last second FG to win at Jacksonville and although the score was closer than the actual game was, had a two point win at Wallace. Both of those teams are very good as proven by their records. Thats all I am saying, it will take a very good team to beat them. You are correct on that they are not number one seed for nothing our offense line has did a Great job this year only giving up two sacks not to bad. I hate that asheboro,Eastern Randolph don’t remember last time they didn’t make the playoffs and high point Andrews was down but we play them every year. Our defense is not bad ether we gave 19 to Nash Central who averaged over 42 points a game and two touchdowns were very late in the fourth quarter and we have just gave up total of 46 points in the last 8 games not to bad but we will see hope we can keep up with them since they are unbeatable as everyone thinks
Again...show me where all these posters are looking ahead to North Davidson? I think it is human nature for people to look at rankings or seeds and play "what if". ED and ND are the #1 and #2 seeds so naturally people will question what might happen if seeds hold.Maybe I should say everyone I have seen has been looking ahead to nd and not taking us to serious it’s going to be tuff we have to make no mistakes but we will give it a try
Who is looking ahead to ND? We’re taking one game at a time.Maybe I should say everyone I have seen has been looking ahead to nd and not taking us to serious it’s going to be tuff we have to make no mistakes but we will give it a try
Have to disagree on the unprepared part. With the coaching staff ED has, that is never an issue. Counting the head coach and two assistants who were once head guys, there are around 400 victories on that staff. Now one could argue maybe the players are for whatever reason not mentally sharp to start but anyone who knows football can tell that it is not due to coaches not having them prepared.Who is looking ahead to ND? We’re taking one game at a time.
I will say, we need to come out much more mentally prepared each week. I saw a ED team last night that came out unprepared in the 1st quarter against WS. Adjustments were made and we found our groove by the 2nd quarter. Against a good team like Randleman, we’ll have to play a complete game.
i have had you guys on my radar ever since the seedings were released. we know there are other good teams in 2AA east other than ED and ND.Maybe I should say everyone I have seen has been looking ahead to nd and not taking us to serious it’s going to be tuff we have to make no mistakes but we will give it a try
its not too bad. decent size for a visitor's side. west stokes brought a pretty good size crowd but they didnt fill it up.How is the seating for visitors section at duplin some places you play at don’t have a lot of room just trying to find out if need to get there early
I am not in any way blaming the coaches. Coach Holley and company have done great things for the East Duplin program. I just believe that the boys have come out flat against many teams this season. Against anyone left in the playoffs, we WILL lose if we come out lethargic.Have to disagree on the unprepared part. With the coaching staff ED has, that is never an issue. Being unprepared didnt cause the QB to fumble deep in WS territory early in the game or for a blown coverage and missed tackles during their initial scoring drive.
17 and 18 year old kids dont always do what they have been prepared to do. I am sure the WS staff put in some wrinkles also.
I am just estimating, but if the band comes too that should fill the bleachers on the visitor side. Someone told me at an earlier game that the visiting side was the home side until 15 years or so ago.I would say we should have around 500 fans
Has it been that long Tiger? You all beat us (Whiteville) in back to back SC games in 1981 and 1982. Seems like yesterday. Good luck Friday night. Thanks for the information on that by the fence not been to the third round since our early championship years in the 80’s hope the fans come out during thanksgiving break. Went to Carrboro one year and they just had park bleachers siting on the ground couldn’t see nothing.
you wont have that problem in the Panther's Den.Thanks for the information on that by the fence not been to the third round since our early championship years in the 80’s hope the fans come out during thanksgiving break. Went to Carrboro one year and they just had park bleachers siting on the ground couldn’t see nothing.
honestly, your passing game scares me. at the same time our running game probably scares a lot of other teams! Thanks we will need it. It sure does seem like yesterday that sure was a lot fun back then. Go tigers!
thanks Ninja! i hope we can get it done, but one game at a time! i see your Stallions are getting their swag back!If any of u folks know football know east duplin beat 3a Jacksonville who is still playing an Jacksonville also averages 47ppg an has a dam strong schdule .... east duplin by a landslide btw Jacksonville passes an runs .. so east duplin can check them out their line is strong an fast their dbs an lbs are fast as well ... good luck east duplin hope you make your first state title game you deserve most people have no clue u guys hace been the best in the state an 1 play from the title game several times
good analysis, but i hope we can keep them from scoring that much. their passing game really has me concerned. and its true what you said about our stable of backs. we rushed for 579 yds. against west stokes, with 607 yds. of total offense, which is not too shabby no matter who youre playing.I’ve seen both play and expect a lot of points. The Randleman offense is very good and the QB is one of the best in the state though he gets little press. He can run it and throw it. Very good weapons around him including a talented soph rb. Problem for Randleman is their schedule, they’ve played no one close to East Duplin.
East Duplin just has a stable of backs. Randleman has a good defense, but not great. So I would think both teams score quite a bit. I’m going 49-42 East Duplin in a shoot out. Expect a huge crowd Tigers because East Duplin fans turn out.
Firecat u dovrealize they beat southwest onslow who won last week 63 -28 vs southwest edgecombe who beat d.h conley come onJacksonville had two games that we're tough. E.D , H'Lock ,. Not saying they aren't good because they are a great team. Any team that averages the number of points they do, (47 pts) per game is a good team and with a very good Defense too. But that schedule really wasn't that tough. From here on out it gets really tough. Now the young Men are playing.
You are seeing more points than I am. If ED moves the ball as expected on the ground, then the amount of possessions Randleman will have is limited. I think the most balanced offense ED has seen was Jacksonville and they were held to 26 points. I find it hard to believe Randleman is on the same level offensively as Jacksonville but that is just my opinion. Not saying Randleman isnt capable but I just do not seeing ED giving up 42 points to them. Looking at their stats and just what I have read, I see them scoring, but not 42 points.I’ve seen both play and expect a lot of points. The Randleman offense is very good and the QB is one of the best in the state though he gets little press. He can run it and throw it. Very good weapons around him including a talented soph rb.
