East Davidson vs North Davidson

Also those jerseys are awful and the new decals that aren't ND are garbage as well. You can BARELY tell this team are the ND black knights. Ugh.

The uniforms are terrible and different decal on each side of helmet(just stick with the ND). Don't like the gray and I know they had some gray unis under Holcomb but don't understand why.

It's the Oregon syndrome... Different unis every year, with some teams every freaking game. Complete waste of money is what it is... Get some new sleds for the linemen, offense and defense lol

I think people that complain should pony up and donate some $$$$ to change the uniforms if they don't like them...just an idea.

Under your idea, if I fork over say 2 grand for jerseys, would they make them how I want them? I doubt it.

Furthermore doesn't ticket sales help pay them?

And lastly, I don't think it ask too much to want to see the black knights wear some black in home games, not orange and grey.

Oh we do. It's called going to every single game for the last ten years lol. Also paying with your blood and sweat when you were a player, and teaching the youngsters how to play before they get to the program. Anything else?

Those all seem to make sense. I guess at the end of the day, the final result is more important than uniforms.

I expected East, with all that returning experience, to give some resistance. That didn't happen, and it surprised me how easy it was. But that's football, sometimes a snowball turns into an avalanche...
I was surprised too that East didn't put up at least a TD or two. I don't think they were ready for the type of speed that ND had and got kind of shell shocked from the two quick TDs. From there things just went downhill.

There won't be a "fall off". Everybody's prediction about ND's demise was crazy from the get go. Just wait and see, and you'll see that I'm right. Everybody's prediction about the Midway community leaving is going to be Waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy wrong!:)
I think there will be some fall off but maybe not like everyone is expecting. I've been around the ND community for more than 30 years and for as long as I've been around a lot of the football talent did come from Midway. My question is though, how much of the current roster has kids that have moved in from another area at some point? (I mean kids that didn't grown up in the N. Davidson area). Will ND continue to be able to field a dominant team every year with just kids from Welcome and what's left of the Arcadia talent?

Welcome has a lot of talent right now, and Arcadia has population as a suburb of Winston but is being carved in half between Oak Grove and North. Then North occasionally gets a kid from Parkland or Lexington whose parents want stronger academics.

Guru, I was looking at that also. Not looking ahead or such, but how much do games like that prepare a team for post-season? I guess you go out and execute, and still work on improving
weekly. I imagine there will be some challenges here and there. All you can do is keep working, and getting better I would think.

I think larger conferences like the CCC but benefit more by not playing every team each season similar to large college conferences...same goes for other sports limited in total games like basketball comes to mind. I don't know how many games can be scheduled for softball and baseball. But with basketball you get 24 games before conference tournament. That means 18 conference games...let them play maybe 14 conference games that way teams can play some tougher teams out of conference to help prepare for playoffs and things of that nature.

If North handles themselves well and stays sharp, they could run the regular season table and earn quite a few home games. Especially if the defense stays so fierce. Staying sharp is very key.

The good thing is that Ledford is at the end of the schedule, so that will somewhat prepare us for playoffs. People talk about North playing 2A ball with 4A numbers, which I don't begrudge them, but I haven't heard much about Ledford still playing with 3A numbers. Maybe because Ledford has never really been one for making deep playoff runs...

Would be a good idea, but I don't know if that would be allowed in NC?

North will be 3A numbers and Ledford close to the line

The conference is too big South Rowan and Salisbury should have been placed in with Cabarrus etc schools to the south. Next year when Oak Grove comes in their will be only 2 non-conference games and only one for those who don play and endowment game.

Thanks, and I may have been mixed up on the 3A, was that the years we were 4A with SR, Davie, etc, if so, always seemed we were battling with them for the conference title....believe I was thinking of us in the conf. with HP Andrews, Ragsdale, etc.

The tri-county 3A was a very competitive conference. One of the reasons we were so prepared for 4A CPC ball and won the conference our first year.

That's Tri-County 3A was a really solid league in all sports. I remember that most years in the league, there was a 3 way tie for first place between Andrews, North and Ragsdale at 4-1. That was back in the day before split classifications and only the top 2 finishers in each conference made it. I recall one year that Andrews was 9-1, finished in 3 way the tie for conf championship and lost the straw draw and missed the playoffs as the #6 ranked team in the state. North was also 9-1 another year I believe, maybe 8-2 at worst and finished in 3 way tie for first but loss the straw draw for the 2 playoff spots and stayed home from playoffs.

....Always was tough when one of those three had to miss the playoffs with frequently one loss, tough teams back in that conference for sure!
