Last week’s record for the predictions was 6-2. For the playoffs, it’s 49-7.

4A East

Cape Fear (14-0) at Scotland (14-0)

So far Scotland has cruised through the region. They’ll have relatively smooth sailing on their cruise this week as well.

Prediction: Scotland 38 Cape Fear 24

4A West

Dudley (13-1) At Charlotte Catholic (13-1)

This is the third time in four years, these western titans have met in the playoffs. They are 1-1 against each other. Dudley won in 2013, 20-15 and Catholic took the win last year 17-8. This is the first time Dudley has travelled to Catholic. Catholic is a tough place to play. Nevertheless, it should be a pleasant trip for the Panthers.

Prediction: Dudley 28 Charlotte Catholic 24

4AA East

Wake Forest (14-0) at Middle Creek (14-0)

Two eastern giants meet in a rematch of their 2013 eastern finals game. Wake Forest won in a tight 24-23 contest. Wake Forest is led by a defense that has been strong this season. They’ve only given up 6.43 points per game. Middle Creek’s defense is equally strong at 8.71 points per game. Their offense is led by their outstanding quarterback, Dominique Shoffner. Wake Forest won the first meeting, but Middle Creek should even things up this week.

Prediction: Middle Creek 28 Wake Forest 14

4AA West

Vance (13-1) at Page (13-1)

This is the second west region final Vance has played in, in the last three years. The last time was in 4A, where they went to Charlotte Catholic and lost a 35-34 heart breaker. The Cougars are averaging an amazing 51.14 points per game. Defensively, they’re giving up 21.36 points per game. They’ve maintained their offensive output in the playoffs. But after last week’s 50-49 overtime win over Butler, they are giving up 37 points per game in the playoffs.

Page is scoring 44.43 points per game and allowing 15.86 points per game. For the playoffs, they’ve maintained their offensive output, while allowing 21.33 points per game. Page hasn’t had as strong of a draw as Vance, and have been plagued by slow starts. This is something that can’t happen against Vance’s high octane offense, led by Mr. Everything quarterback, Kingsley Ifedi. Page is led by outstanding RB, 6-1, 210lb Javon Leake.

Vance needs to find a defense and Page needs to eliminate the slow starts. Nevertheless, once again, it will be heart break hotel for Vance in the region finals.

Prediction: Page 41 Vance 35
